Gotham Gotham Season 1, Episode 4 "Arkham" General Discussion

Good episode so far. Arkham looks fantastic.

This episode actually isn't too bad so far. The bad guy is pretty creepy so that's good.

and this is where the rift between Gordon and his wife starts.

I really liked the episode. Made me wish even more that we got to see the Waynes for a good amount of time before their deaths.

Best episode. Thought just about everything clicked.

This one was fairly boring for me.The bad guy with the pin sticker was pretty dull and routine.(particularly when compared with the previous weeks)The 2nd half picked up a bit with the Penguin's climbing the ladder.(I wasn't surprised in the least of his involvement.)Fish continues to be a waste of time.(Her new "plan",notwithstanding.)The Gordon/Barbara stuff was blah.

Agreed about the Barbara/Gordon stuff being rather blah. At least he knows Montoya has been snitching on him to his girlfriend.

-Barbara got out of the apartment!:applaud

-Fish pulled a Dark Knight with a "tryouts" sans pool cue.

-to quote Jim Kirk "first rule of a conspiracy is to kill all the conspirators. "

-Arkham looked creepy at night.

good episode!

Easily the best episode yet, imo. Loved the visual of Arkham, the dialogue didn't have me cringing every 2 minutes, the characters are becoming more interesting, and overall it just really felt like the show was starting to finding its groove and settle into a proper tone tonight. Hope it keeps it up.

That said...

Best part! ;)

Sooo at the end, the Mayor's speech/announcent, how did Gordon watch the beginning at the precinct and end it at Wayne Manor?

Because he's Batman.

This show does not know the meaning of the words subtle and nuance.

That was the best episode yet.

Agreed. This episode was better by leaps and bounds. I was pleasantly surprised. Enough with the "freak of the week" schtick, though.

Good episode! :) Loved how Gordon and Bullock both unloaded on the guy at the end. lol. That was some sweet justice

The Barbara/Jim stuff did remind me a bit of Lana/Clark in Smallville which I also found blah nearly all the years they played it out. I was a bit surprised that they split after like four episodes though so that's something new. Even then the way they shot it reminded me of Clark in the barn as Lana walks away after they have another one of their "What are you keeping from me" speeches.

The villains and the cases of the week are weak.

Every time they show Bruce, it's like they're saying "OMG, Batman's coming one day". It's also crazy how this kid lives in his living room, and doesn't seem to be going to school or anything. Just doing pre-Batman stuff you know.

Gordon remains bland. He & Bruce need to figure out how to have a different conversation. It's only so many times I can here a variation of Gotham being capable of being saved.

Penguin's arc and the mob stuff is what keeps me interested.

Not a bad episode, but the two chicks going at it had me a little disappointed (sarcasm).
