Was that a hint of the BTAS Joker theme?

wow, bit bloody today

wow, bit bloody today

After Fish spooned her eye out, the gore and violence hasn't exactly shocked me.

I'm liking the craziness. We will see how the rest of season progresses. Looking forward to some actual focus on Nygma.

Much better episode than the premiere. Potential future Joker Jerome is the standout in this.

Jerome is the future Joker, right? They're not going to do some bait and switch later on?

That was a really good episode. This Jerome is knocking it out of the park.

Jokerome is entertaining but if they are giving him the same screen time they gave Penguin last year, I think he's gonna fizzle.

Now that's a good name for Jerome - Jokerome.

I think he's going to be the standout for this season like Penguin was in the first season.

I like the friction between Bruce and Alfred.

Barbara may be a better character this season than she was in the first season. I wonder if she's going to become an evil version of Batgirl.

I would like to see Jim Gordon wear some kind of mech suit like in the current comics.

It's sad to see a character go, but it was almost like the comics.

I'm really loving Jerome, and honestly it's to the point where if he DOESN'T become the Joker I'll actually be disappointed because I can't imagine they could get someone else half as good.

He is awesome, and I say that as someone who is usually against Joker getting any sort of backstory, but the way they have presented Jerome...he's practically already the Joker. He's just missing the clown aesthetic (white face, green hair, etc) therefore his back-story doesn't doesn't bother me so much.

Because we still don't know THAT much about him other then he killed his mother. He's already an unrepentant psycho killer with a sense of humor and no fear of death, who lives for the game, really just slap on the white face and toss in Batman and... there you go!

When he was trying to get the lighter to work reminded me of the animated film 'Under the Red Hood'.

"Anybody got a light?" LOL :lmao:

I hope he stays around for a while.

I can't imagine anyone else being the future Joker other than Jerome. They promoted him as such, so there's no point in bringing anyone else. He reminds me of a young Jack Nicholson.

I really liked this episode. The writing for Jerome is good, but his acting is so-so. I hope after next week we'll get a break from Jerome and get back to Penguin.

It's sad to see a character go, but it was almost like the comics.

But why would they do that though? Like with Maroni last season - how many comic characters are going to be around when Batman actually shows up?

Ok seriously. Are we to believe that 4 guys can go in to a cop station and shoot up 50 or so cops? I'm all for suspension of disbelief, but COME ON...

Yeah, there were more than the 4 Maniax.

This is the same franchise that gives us the "Batgod," who has been depicted as taking down the entire Justice League by himself on multiple occasions. Compared to that, 4 psychopaths, with backup, taking out a station full of ordinary cops aint that hard to buy. Heck I think that the comics have had The Joker do something like that by himself on at least one occasion.

Jerome aping Ledger's Joker was annoying, but at least they redeemed themselves with Lucius/Alfred and Alfred/Bruce having some BTAS style banter.

The chick playing Barbara should have just never been that character, she plays the crazy rich criminal well but that should be another character or a made for this show character.

Fun episode.
Jerome is pretty entertaining and I'm happy that we're seeing so much of him.

"That was strangely pleasant.

Do it again"

:funny:

It seems odd, being a prequel (pretty-much) that have already blown through Maroni/Loeb/Essen/Flass/Barbara/Montoya/Allen let alone all of the baby-villains we've already seen.

Slow down, guys.

BTW, I joked about the guy playing Lucius sounding like Morgan Freeman too much on twitter and he joked back. He even replied again how he can do a mad MF impersonation but he wasn't trying to for his Lucius; hilarious.

If Jerome is the Joker, they have already failed. People know who he is, his backstory. They know how he acts. Thus he can never be the Joker, because he is a person. One the villains and the cops know who he is.

But why would they do that though? Like with Maroni last season - how many comic characters are going to be around when Batman actually shows up?

Only Gordon, Alfred, Bullock, and some villains will stand when Batman shows up in final episode.

Yes I agree that Joker works better as a mystery...BUT it's not like his character has never had a back-story given to him before. Is Jack Nicholson's Joker any less the Joker because Burton gave him a backstory? He's the Joker I grew up with, and I still love him to this day. Heck Mark Hamill's animated Joker was also given a back-story of sorts in Mask of the Phantasm.

Besides what exactly did we learn about Jerome...that he grew up at the circus and killed his mother? That's not a lot of info really.

And IF Jerome does become the Joker...whose to say that in the future when he does take the plunge into the acid and becomes the killer clown, that the police will figure out that he's the same kid who terrorized them years before?

And even if they did... how would that info help them?

Example:

Gordon: Jerome?

Joker: Jerome is dead, you can call me Joker!

I know I stole from Nicholson, but Jerome sort of reminds me of Nicholson's Joker more-so then Ledger's Joker. :woot:

But since he was always a psycho it's not like they could use his 'past life' against him anyway.

Agreed 100%. But I don't think Jerome will make it past mid season, if that.

Anyone else have a problem with the Bruce/Alfred storyline? Bruce shouldn't be able to fire Alfred. Alfred's his legal guardian and Alfred wouldn't abandon a 12 year old Bruce.
