Gotham Gotham Season 5 Episode 10- ""I Am Bane"

Thought Bane was fine. Same as Nyssa. Overall enjoyable episode.

Because Fox.

 

Certainly wasn't expecting Nyssa.

Bane was more violent here than Nolan's version.

 

This was like a Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees version of Bane, but I don't mind these alternate versions of characters in the show. I thought we were going to get a Talia and Bane team-up again like in TDKR as I thought that was where the reveal of Walker was going, but instead it's Nyssa.

The Riddler and Penguin are at their best when teaming up and playing off each other with their bickering and scheming. The escape in the chair with Lee wheeling Barbara as she blasted henchmen was gold lol.

 

Finally saw the episode, and tbh, what obviously will continue with "They Did What?", it reminded me of my anger toward the characters of Bane and Talia from TDKR. Makes sense, since obviously that movie was one of the influences for this season.

But man, the Bane/Al Ghul combo really triggers me. Penguin doesn't quite do it, neither does Riddler, or even Joker. All of them are fun, and I'm talking about any version. But Nyssa or Talia, plus Bane; man do I want Bruce/Batman to make an exception with his "no kill" policy.

 

Always despise Bane getting whitewashed in live action, plus playing off the ridiculous TDKR voice sucked. At least Ra's (I love how his first name is pronounced differently every time you see him and I will always go with the TAS version that rhymed with mace cuz I'm a 90's kid) gets to stay brown.
