Gotham Gotham Season 5 Episode 12 - "The Beginning..." [Series Finale]

I'm going to miss this show.

Awesome!!

 

This is the one we all have to watch on Thursday.

 

I was wondering: the fact that we're not seeing Batman in full, do you think its because they're saving it and all of its glory for the airing, or is that a sign that that's all that we're getting?

 

It's time.

 

Sucks that we had Gordon with the mustache and then they have him immediately shave it off for no reason haha. Not a huge thing but just sucks we don’t get it for one full episode.

 

Wish this episode would be at least a half an hour longer. This is all seeming very rushed. Or they could’ve maybe done this flash forward in two episodes.

 

Yeah. This is a little better than "Smallville" series finale

 

Yeah this should’ve been at the very least 2 episodes. Or maybe an hour and a half episode or 2 hours. Or hell 3 episodes in this flash forward. This is all wayyyyy to quick and thrown together IMO which sucks because I love this show.

 

Man I have always really enjoyed this show. And I was so excited for this finale. And well. Underwhelmed is an understatement. Wow.

 

Yeah it was pretty underwhelming. They showed just a tad more than the Smallville finale

 

Also underwhelmed a great deal! Had a few cool moments, but this should have been 2 hours!

 

I don’t feel like I watched anything epic. Like I said IMO it was so rushed. If this had been a few episodes or a longer episode it could’ve worked better.

But for this to be the end of the entire series. It fails miserably. IMO that is. I am not the type to **** on other people’s feelings on things. If some of you guys got what you wanted and loved this finale I love that, happy for you if it satisfied you

 

A shame about Ecco. She had just one episode until retirement.

I liked this finale, but didn't love it. I want to say a combination of the shorter season run and breaks could've impacted it, but this really did only feel like one half of a final episode. While we don't follow-up on everything, this did feel like it's job was merely to get everyone back up to speed to set up the status quo that would be established now that Bruce is back.

So it feels like a reintroduction to all of the major players we've followed, but also bringing in one big scheme that ties Penguin, Oswald, and Jeremiah together in order to set up Batman's introduction. And I will say...yeah, while I didn't dislike the Batman suit in the images, and do think it's good enough for a TV show, I don't think it looks that good when you see it in motion. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the Nolan suits, Batfleck, and so on- haven't seen Titans yet- but in motion and when you close up on it, it's just okay. I'm happy that Gotham did get to end on its own terms, but this finale and time jump would've benefitted, I feel, from being a two-parter.

 

Well yeah... wasn't as hard hitting as I had hoped. But it closed out on his eventual destiny.

 

I actually liked the last shot we got of the suit all that.

 

Liked it but yeah, didn't love it... Definitely would have been better as a two-parter or a 90-minute finale.
