Police are looking for information on the master thief who they say made off with around 5,000 cars in Perry County.

The catch is, they’re not real cars. They are matchbox cars.

State Police listed the individual value of each car at $7 per toy—meaning that around $35,000 worth of matchbox cars could have been stolen.

State Police are looking for the culprit, who they say stole the collectible toys from a Mountain View Road home in Carroll Township some time in 2021. The victim, a Shermans Dale man, called police to report the theft on Jan. 18.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact PSP Newport at (717) 567-3110,” troopers wrote in a press release
