How fast do you all plan on beating the story?,I won't rush to complete it,The game will still be a blast after it But I'll be playing the game for years and I'm much more into the side missions and online so I'll just take my time with story,Once I get the game I'm going to do the intro mission and probably not go back to it for days or something

I'm a tragic figure when it comes to big open world games that I'm really into. It can take me weeks to get through the story, if not longer. With Fallout 3 I left the vault and didn't go anywhere near Megaton for a long, long time. I don't recall ripping through GTA IV too quickly either.

With so much to see and do and three separate characters to do it with, I'll be amazed if I do the final story mission before November.

I'll be exploring until online mode is released,I know for sure I'll be VERY hooked on that!

Haha Nikos story was like rags to slightly better rags.

"Rich" probably isn't the right word, but he started out the game driving a beat-up cab for his brother and sharing a slummy apartment with him in the worst part of Bohan; but by game's end, he had "property" all over the city, including a couple of uptown penthouses, and a relatively swanky wardrobe and cars and cash flow, unless you blew it all on hookers, booze and bowling.

Niko started the game boring and unlikable and ended the game boring, annoying and unlikable. Good thing all 3 of these guys look phenomenal. Though ill be playing as Michael the most

I liked Niko. He had an interesting past and despite all his evil, became the most sympathetic GTA protagonist yet. He did genuinely seem to want a good, normal life.

That said, I can appreciate why he wouldn't appeal to everyone.

Niko was just meh to me,Johnny from TLAD was cool But I really liked Luis from TBOGT

Tommy from Vice City is still my favorite

but from what i have seen from the 3 guys in GTA 5, i can tell they are going to give Tommy a run for his money

Tommy is also my favorite But feel Michael has potential to top him

Yea I never had an issue with Niko, the only GTA protagonist iv ever hated was Vercetti. CJ was prob my favorite.

I loved tommy. His personality perfectly represented what the GTA games were at the time, pure chaos. Going on a rampage with tommy made sense because the guy was a psychopath but with someone like CJ his actions never seemed to match his personality. There was too big a disconnect between the CJ you saw in the cut-scenes and the CJ you had to play with.

I agree completely. The disconnect you talk about has been prevalent in almost every modern era GTA protagonist, the only total exception being III's speechless Claude Speed. With Claude you rarely had any clues as to what was going on inside his head, he could be as crazy as the player wanted him to.

Tommy Vercetti and Johnny Klebitz both had tempers that one could believably see getting out of hand. Even so, performing other large scale crimes for the sake of it (like sniping civilians from rooftops, blowing up gas stations, etc) still made little to no sense if you were inclined to play in-character. Guys like CJ, Luis and Niko might have kicked ass at times, but they always came across as the type of people who were violent because they had to be. Not careful as such, but not going to go out of their way to cause trouble if it didn't need to be caused either.

Fortunately, hopefully, it looks like Trevor will break this mold completely. We don't know enough about his character quite yet, but Rockstar have said he revels in destruction. Between Trevor's madness in video clips, 'rage power' and drug use, I get the impression he's the character to embody all that good-time chaos the series is known for. At this stage I could see Trevor waking up, wandering outside and opening fire because it's not raining, or whatever bonkers reason his nutso-mind happens to think of in the moment.

This is gonna be awesome, is it the 17th yet?:p

Thats why I hated him, he was a damn psychopath. I had no desire to see him succeed or do well in the game. I think thats why i wont control Trevor much at all, he just seems like too much of a whack a doo.

Vice City was my favorite GTA tho, love 80's Miami.

I need this game NOW.
I know! I've been dying to go back to GTA IV just to help myself get over the wait, but my nephew still has my copy and I think he may have lost it since I couldn't find it when I went to his house last night. :cmad:

only 11 more days! We'ral amost there!

Also, I loved Niko, he was an interesting protagonist, and I loved his background. Roman was awesome.
