Fantasy Grayskull: Masters of the Universe - Part 3

Jared Leto is the ****ing worst, terrible news for He-Man fans.

Also are we ever going to get a live action Thundercats movie? I remember WormyT did a great fake trailer for that

Is Jared Leto going to insist on showing his face instead of having a skull, and will he keep a beard as Skeletor?

lol he probably will keep his beard. That’s one of the things that really made me laugh about Morbius. He’s soooooo method that he supposedly does all this weird **** to “become” whatever character he’s supposed to be and yet when portraying this brilliant geneticist, he looks like a guy who fronts a crappy screamo band (which of course, he is in real life). And it’s not like it was part of giving Morbius his classic comic look, because Morbius never had a full beard in the comics and his costume wasn’t a hoodie or a prison jumpsuit.

He didn't keep the beard when he played Hatbox Ghost or Joker.

I imagine Skeletor is going to be motion capture/CGI. So they won't have to put a beard on him if they don't want to (since his "face" will likely be CGI anyway).

Unless he spends over half the movie as Keldor and doesn't become Skeletor until the end? ;)

MWAHAHAHAHA!

I mean, they have been using Keldor a lot more recently, and he tends to have a beard.

That's probably why they got Jared Leto so he could play Keldor for everything but the last 10 minutes of the movie when he finally gets his skull and becomes Skeletor. It will of course need to feel earned and teasing a sequel. :o

In 1987 MOTU Skeletor was Skeletor until the last 10 minutes of the movie where he became golden Skeletor. In this movie he'll be Keldor until the last 10 minutes where he becomes normal Skeletor. :o What a step backwards!

No one wants to see Keldor for more than 5 minutes. But then, no one wants to see Leto either and yet here we ****ing are.

We'll probably see Skeletor for only 5 minutes and the rest will be Keldor and he won't even be blue so he'll just look like Leto who we will see for far more than 5 minutes. :o

He'll be Ske-Leto :o

Pivoting to your role as He-Man, you been binge-watching the old cartoon at all? How does it compare to the film?

I have, yeah. Look, what I will say is our version is quite different from the original animation, which we all agree was camp within its own right and worked so well for the time. But there’s been a couple of iterations, obviously since there was the Revelation version of Master of the Universe, and the comics themselves. And we’re very much treating our script as as Bible, you know. But it’s kind of amazing to hear what this show meant to a lot of people. It was really formative for a lot of people, so it’s exciting to do something that will have a nostalgia element as well as hopefully attract a bunch of new fans.

Isn't Fisto meant to be the brother of Man at Arms? Or am I've imagining that?

Also I wish we had characters like Ram Man and Stratos. And Beastman and Merman. Why the heck do we have Goat Man??

Also when will we have casting of Randor and Marlena?

Morenna Baccarin is good casting.

It depends on the continuity. They are brothers in the 2002 animated series continuity. The implication is that he is Teela's biological father. In the original Filmation animated series, he was once a bad guy who worked for Skeletor who changed his ways after being convinced by He-Man.

There are many different alternate continuities for the characters. In the original mini-comics, there was no Prince Adam identity. He-Man was just a nomadic barbarian who The Goddess gave the sword of power, weapons, and armor to protect from Skeletor. Also, Skeletor just used to be like a lich or demon from another dimension.

Yeah but the tricky thing about Skeletor is that he’s also jacked. So Leto will have to only starve his face while simultaneously buffing up his body.

But he’s so method. He can do it. :o

Depends on how they interpret Skeletor. We never see him shirtless in the 1987 live-action movie. Either way they can still use that with body suits and CG enhancements. Leto did play this character in Haunted Mansion. Makes me wonder why they even cast him.
