Greatest film music ever

There's too much great film music out there to say that there is only one truely definitive "great film music ever" score.

ET's the one truly best score ever. Fits the movie air tight.

The scores for the following films were amazing. They literally capture the emotion and feel of the films they were in.

Superman the Movie
Aliens
Terminator

I was just thinking that Bryan Adams' "Everything I Do" adds more to the movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves than any of the actual contributors (Costner, director Kevin Reynolds, etc). The song gives an very strong romantic and old world atmosphere to the film that simply isn't there without it. There is little chemistry between Costner and Maid Marion without the song.

British people still watch that movie?

I want to know exactly what ever it was Elfman was smoking when he thought of that.

lol. He wasn't smoking anything. The thinking behind the music is that once Pee-Wee leaves his town people see him as some sort of weird man-child circus freak. Then, they fall in love with him once they get to know him.

B89's entire score.

heh, learn something new every day...

Well people mention Star Wars and Indy 634,839 times because John Williams is one of the most brilliant composers of all time. He's the greatest film score composer living, bar none, and he's up there with Mozart, Beethoven, Tchakovisky, Wagner, etc in terms of quality of work and how people that aren't acquanted with the genre recognize the work.

I'd like to add Last of the Mohicans and Jaws. I can't believe I overlooked those two.

I don't think anyone's mentioned Back To The Future yet.
Ahh, another great Alan Silvestri score,. I love all his collaborative work with Zemeckis, the two go great together much like Danny Elfman and Tim Burton.
