Yeah, I didn't care much for Troy. But I love Barabbas (which Jack Palance is in).

Not that I know of......hard to make a movie about Zeus really.

Except for "The Erotic Adventures of Hercules" featuring Norman Fell as Zeus.

they really need to make a movie about the greek myth stories like Lord of the rings style, and go really into it, i'd love to see something like that, maybe peter jackson will make a live action theatrical special effects crazed up version of hercules or somthing

This may sound completely off-the-wall, but for the past few days I've been thinking whether anybody could make a movie about the war against the Titans. I think with some imagination it could work.

^ petter jackson would make it look amazing, i'm sure if hes behind it it could work and would come out to be a great looking movie

They need to make a Hercules movie, a live-action one that's closer to the myth.

Good movie and Greek Myth don't go together AT ALL. It is either a complete joke like Clash of the Titans or a loveable yet ugly mess like Troy. But downright good and faithful...nadda.

And if you enjoy Greek myths you would spit on Disney's Hercules before you would like it. Here is a start, this is the Greek version of the myth and yet they call him HERCULES, his name in Greek Mythology is HERACLES. But that is minor to him being Hera's son, born a god, loving a woman and settling down and fighting Hades of all people and just whie wash all of his flaws to make him great.

Now I know it is a Disney movie but that is why IT SHOULD NEVER have been made into a Disney movie. I would add Pochontas and Hunchback of Notre Dame as films that should be burnt if you know they're literary or historical source. But that is just my opinion though.

Especially Pocahantas. I live in the area that Jamestown is, and it pissed MANY people off.

There's also Jason and the Argonauts, Iphigenia(which is a Greek film), and there's also many TV movie's that pretty much destroy Greek myths.

What we need is a direct to NOT try to simplify the story by eliminating the gods. I wanna see a faithful Iliad, Odyssey, Heracles(the TV series was closer, but still not close enough), Perseus film(which is Clash of the Titans, but it was a total B-movie), Theseus and the Minotaur, and Oedipus and Antigone.

Oedipus would be a little too freaky for modern audiences though.....I mean...the whole having sex with his mom thing........ewwwww

Though...a remake of Clash of the Titans...I wouldn't mind.

Well...
We never see him do his mom, but we know he does because of his children.
It's not really his fault, it's the Fate's fault.

still...he DOES his mom. Can you imagine that being a hit at the box-office. I don't think any studio would fund a big budget version of that..... Classic story though...

To quote Mel Brooks' ingenius Producers musical:

Audiences want laughter when they see a show,
The last thing they're after is a ligtney of woe
A happy ending will pep up your play [movie]
Oedipus won't bomb,
If he winds up with mom
Keep it Gay

Sorry that popped into my head and I'd really LOVE to see Disney's Oedipus now.

Troy pretty much cuts out the Greek myths.
i hate it when they do that!:o :down

i only like greek myth BECAUSE of the magical ****! ...find it more entertaining than the bible

posiedon.......a little..lol

Well...Wonderwoman movie is coming soon. They CAN'T do that movie without some greek myth in it. So you have that to look forward too.

I don't think there's enough respectable ones and it's such a shame because I'm really into Greek mythology.

Why would it bomb? seriously?
Why would you change a story just because it's not "Politically Correct".
It's a good story, plus there's sequels! Antigone and Oedipus at Colonus.
How come films like Romeo and Juliet and other tragedies are hits?

Clash of the Titans pwns all greek myth movies.
