Discuss the first issue of the comic right here. ANd also answer some questions others may have.

I'll start with my question: I did not get the issue because I thought I didn't need it, for those of you who have read it: how wrong was my desicion?

Do it need it, is it GOOD? Or not?

i didnt read it yet, but i bought 2 copys because i wanted 2 rings :)

yea, the article was out a few months ago that your shop can order rings to come with the first issue, i originally got one but when i went to my other shop to pick up my TPB order i asked for a ring he said you gotta buy the issue so i did.

My thoughts on it from the B/T thread:
Green Lantern Corps #1
Nice continuation to the Green Lantern Corps: Recharge mini of last year...familiar characters with their familiar dramas abound. Guy is as feisty as ever, and the Guardians are as annoying as they've ever been in these last few years. The Lanterns and Oa are getting serious play in the DCU lately, and I really like how they're being presented both visually and narratively; that shot of the entire planet of Oa being surrounded by a lantern-looking armor was pretty damn cool. I like Natu, and it seems like a year has done a lot to our other two former rookies.

I just hope that someone at some point is going to acknowledge the fact that the Guardians being giant ***** is what turned a lot of people off to them the first time around. Unless there's a really damn good reason coming up really damn soon for their standoffish ways in both this series and in Ion.

(8.9 out of 10)

I didn't get a ring with my comic, but then again my store didn't even have it.

Though my store was selling these ******edass looking forest green plasic rings, the ones that you get in like the quarter machines at Toys R Us for like 2$ a piece.

did u get a ring brian?
Oh yeah, I totally did. It was ludicrously small and only fit on my pinky until I stretched it with my utter, impregnable fat.

those are the rings supplied with the comic that they were suppose to give you for free when you buy the book.

I got a ring with mine. :)

The issue was totally awesome. I love this new Corps! I love how organized it is...for the first time I get the sense that Oa is a busy planet, something akin to Coruscant in Star Wars with people coming and going all the time. I love Kilowog's office...they wanted this Corps to be more like a police force, so of course, there has to be donuts and coffee a plenty!

Guy's speech to Soranik was also great.

haven't gone to the store yet, but someone post a pic of the ring! i want to see!

i totally forgot that this came out this week :(

i saw a preview for it at newsarama though, the artwork doesn't jump put and grab me:(

I've been annoyed with the Guardians too. They have been complete pricks in all 3 of the Green Lantern books. Haven't they learned that that is what caused the original Green Lantern Corps to get destroyed in the first place?

Nah, that was a boring antagonist. ;)

I thought Hal going crazy and killing lots of people was what caused the corps to get destroyed.
