While I'm more of a Jim Carrey fan, I'm unsure about how his racoon would sound. So if it's going after voice alone - Adam Sandler. If it's going after the star bringing something more than just their voice - Jim Carrey. Sandler's voice just seems like would fit a racoon more. Jim Carrey though for Thanos - that would rock!!!

He's f**king worse than I thought! And I thought he would be pretty bad.

Wow I don't want to sound like I'm exaggerating but that's actually one of the worst voice acting performances I've ever had the displeasure of hearing.

But again, how does anyone know they aren't considering him? There has been no announcement either way. Why speculate about an assumption?

Was Odin's horse shot completely with practical effects? Also, that Frost Giant monster with the tail wasn't all that humanoid. And I guess we'll see what happens in Thor: The Dark World. AAA was describing his Kurse get-up as "animalistic," but it will most likely be humanoid.

Not seeing Sandler with that high of a voice, rather a more gruffer Danny DeVito voice. Unsure where I heard him do that voice before. But to me his Danny DeVito impersonation definitely sounds like a racoon and has an almost brooklyn type sound to it that works. To me the racoon should sound like he comes from Brooklyn or some place like that based off the image. As long as he's not improvising and it's just his voice it works. If it's more than that, like going off script and adding his brand of humor - then definitely not. To me it's all about that brooklyn-like gruff voice.

I'm not assuming they are. I was arguing that no one knew either way. That's why I was questioning Suzanne's and Dark Raven's assumptions in the first place.

When is this movie meant to start filming? When do they need the casting locked down by?

I think filming is supposed to begin around June/July so that means that most of the main cast should be in place around March/April I'd imagine.

I imagine this was probably pitched by a clueless Disney higher-up. I can't imagine this being Feige, Gunn or Whedon's suggestion.

They're gonna bring in big name actors in supporting roles, that's kind of their thing. I doubt hiring Carrey or not will affect how much they have budgeted out for space shots

Um, obviously. I wasn't claiming that they were. I was making the same argument in the other direction, that it's just as much of a reach to assume that Marvel isn't going to meet with someone. Please reread that original post. Or are you just trying to disagree with that, for some reason?

I just went to Target and I saw the coolest Guardians of the Galaxy team pack with Star Lord, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and a small tree Groot. $25. I wish I hadn't bought that pizza last night.
