I don't really hate it, it was just a product of the time and hence seemed pretty dated.

Gunn posted this on his facebook, made me giggle:
Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes News of Guardians of the Galaxy: All the fire alarms went off in the Guardians building and we all had to go outside and wait for the fire department to check it out. It ended up that someone cooking waffles had set off the alarm. End of scoop (comicbookmo\/ie I know you guys want to pick this one up quick!)

I thought about it, but didn't want to give Gunn the satisfaction of being right, for now. :woot:

We’ve learned that Brian Muir, the movie prop sculptor who worked on the Ark of the Convent, the Space Jockey and even Darth Vader’s mask and armour, is busy at Pinewood with The Guardians of the Galaxy.

I tried to ascertain if he was working on Star Lord’s mask, and was just given the run around. Which leads me to believe he is. Put that on file for pub quizzes in years to come.

We’re told that there’s something of a Star Wars vibe to the plans for Guardians, and Muir’s appointment is a nice manifestation of this. Much better idea than stuffing Peter Mayhew in a Raccooon suit.

Anyway, this isn’t a huge bit of news, but a few Little Bleeders were bussing about it, Muir’s a talent, we’re told he’s a top-class chap to boot, and we reckon this is a nice little bit of nerd trivia.

I'm excited by the heavy SW influence for this movie, I just hope they dont go overboard and GOTG doesn't become SW-lite.

I think the comparisons are inevitable. People always love to compare things. I wouldn't be surprised to see the line "The new Star Wars" or something popping up during press.

lol I remember those ads

"It's IRON MAN meets STAR WARS!"
-some guy on fandango

Stop it. I don't want to have to think about all the wasted potential. :(

I wonder what the feel of the film will be...will it be light hearted or go into more serious places like most Marvel films seem to do...where there is a strong balance.

They filmed parts of the Star Wars movies at Shepperton Studios. A few of the guys who worked on those films are still knocking around Pinewood, Shepperton and Leavesden Studios.

I don't have a problem with Gunn taking advantage of those guys talent and experience as long as GoTG has its own style which I'm sure it will.

Oh HAI HAL

-best line in the movie, amazing delivery

One of the worst things about that movie.

Sadly, that actor is a fairly good actor.

He is a good actor. Just goes to show you no matter how good the cast of a movie may be, that's no guarantee that it'll be good.

When the writers couldn't figure out that you don't start out making a movie about a guy joining an interstellar police corps and traveling to a distant planet to undergo intensive training and fight a powerful cosmic entity, then halfway through it turn it into a movie about a psychic back on earth with a giant deformed head and daddy issues. Either-or, not both.

Brad Dourif wouldve been great as Rocket if not for his "Chuckie" work. Just rewatched Deadwood and he was so gd good in that.
