Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: General Discussion & Speculation Thread

Hope this is a triumphant ending for the team.

 

Like that they’re all in uniform now.

 

Gunn going out with an emotional bang. o7

 

Phase 5 starting off right with Ant-Man and this. Should be a great time

 

Finally going to get Groot doing things again since Vol 1, expecting the most action from him. Looking forward to Rocket getting his story told, Cooper plays him so well. I am expecting this to have it all.

 

Why are the colors so ugly and dry in this??

Besides that this looks pretty solid.

 

There's definitely a sense this is the final run of this roster of Guardians. Also Adam Warlock looks great. Very intrigued by the goals and objective of the High Evolutionary seems Rocket is the primary focus character this time around rather than Quell like the previous installments.

 

Idk but someone should tweet Gunn about it.

 

This looks like it’s going to be very emotional. Fingers crossed Gunn nails this.

Does anyone have any guesses over who Quill is bawling over what's clearly some kind of operating table?

My guess Gamora dies again. We don't see a lot of her in the trailer so it makes me wonder how involved she'll be. Though it could easily be Drax, as some speculate he dies this time around. My runner-up guess is Kraglin, maybe.

 

I dont think this movie will be super heavy on characters dying. I think maybe, 2 Guardians die max. But if I had to guess on that table scene, mine would be

Rocket. I think Rocket almost certainly is gonna be the Yondu death in this movie. It makes the most sense he would die in order to defeat the man who created him.

 

I don't know about dying, but I definitely think the majority of the original Guardians lineup + Kraglin will get to a point where they won't really be in the picture anymore after this movie. I believe Bautista and Saldaña have both said they'll be done with the franchise, for Rocket it seems like a logical endpoint too given this movie's apparent plot (whether that's by dying or simply because he's "done running" and can settle down with Lylla or something afterwards), I can't imagine Sean Gunn sticking around after his brother has wrapped up his trilogy movies, and I have to wonder for how long Pratt and Diesel will want to stick around.

 

Surely they can't kill everyone? I think 2 or 3 max will die and 1 or 2 of them will hit big time. But the show can go on with new members.

The brief look at Warlock was cool.

 

Rocket dying seems almost too obvious by now. But then again he is Gunn's favourite Guardian, maybe he doesn't want to give Rocket to anyone else.

Vin Diesel will keep "appearing" until Marvel stops paying him, it's an easy paycheck so why not
So we may have Groot, Mantis, and Warlock as the main guardians moving forward if and when they appear again

Also, anybody have any theories on who the all-white woman is in High Evolutionary's lab?

 

Trailer is on Disney+ and the sound/picture quality is so much better than on Youtube.

 

The sound of the ball hitting that girl's face cracks me up. Every. Single. Time.

It sure does seem like Rocket is a goner, and I'll be devastated if that happens because he's not only my favorite Guardian but one of my favorite Marvel characters in general. After him, I could see Drax dying only because Bautista seems to be over the role outside of his loyalty to Gunn.

CH seems to be back on that Thor shape. Wonder if they’re still filming or going to film some Thor stuff for GOTG3. Would make a lot of sense because of Thor and the Guardians recent partnership and even the Adam Warlock connection. I also could easily see a post credit scene featuring Thor for example.

 

Nitpicking here but I wish we had a full makeup High Evolutionary. He's looking very Kang-like in terms of costume.

 

Sort of concerned about Adam Warlock. Not sure how much we can expect from the character in a story that's about High Evolutionary/Rocket.
