Forget being newsworthy on CNN. Why is this newsworthy at all?

His biggest problem is that his name is Skippy.

I think being unattractive , mormon , and avidly collecting belly lint are more serious issues.

I think this is one of those cases where, to feel better about not getting laid, they make it seem like it's by choice...

...when actually, it's just because nobody can see past the weirdness... :(

    A) Why is this newsworthy, and how the hell did "Skippy" get on the news?

    B) Yea, between the belly button lint collection (seriously, wtf?) and the heart shaved into his chest air that he just advertised on national television...good luck changing your virgin status any time soon.

So, did the name Skippy prevent him from getting laid?

Why save yourself for marriage which is just a useless ceremony that doesn't affect how much you love the other person that will just end up in divorce?

    This.

The notion of marriage, the fantasy of it is nice....but the harsh reality of it now a days is why I don't believe in marriage. Most people can't make it work anymore.

Well we do live in a disposable society where a lot of people don't know the meaning of the word consequence, because actually putting effort into relationships is such an obtuse idea.

Not saying marriage for everyone. Some people are just happy just being together without marriage. But at least know what you're getting into.

And lastly, maybe ETM, you should give this topic another thought after being with someone because it may change your perspective.

Apparently not having sex past a certain age is an act of utter deviance. :whatever:

That's one thing I never understood about the culture of the United States: Americans seem as obsessed with "virginity", one way or another, at levels that are roughly on par overall with the fundamentalist Muslim world.

Either it's some big millstone that young Americans are chomping at the bit like wild animals to lose from around your neck, or it's some grand moral symbol of purity in their flawed religious faith that must be brandished about in public and promoted in chastity groups led by creepy youth ministers.

Many perfectly normal and happy individuals have never had sex well into their 30s and 40s, or even all their lives. Many perfectly normal and happy individuals have screwed more people than Goldman Sachs. Why it is such a major cultural issue in the United States is beyond me.

Actually, I noticed the second time in the bottom right a sign that looks like they're doing a series on virgins over 30.

And I blame divorce on two main factors:

    1. The blurring of gender roles which causes confusion

    2. The length of marriage, what with us alll living longer nowadays.
