I was a fan of Nolan Ryan as a kid, but otherwise, sports haven't held much interest for me. I know that its typical for most men (at least in America) to be obsessed with cars and sports, but I'm not. Are any other men on the Hype indifferent about this as well? Just curious; thanks for reading.

But seriously, probably not a great idea to come to a sports forum and say, "hey guys, do you dislike sports?" :funny: Probably a question better suited for the lounge because most people who don't like sports, don't come to this section for the forum.

Yes there are a few of the males species who don't like sport. They should be locked up and be never heard of again.:o

No seriously I've a couple of friends who don't like sports and if I'm with them I just don't talks about it with them. Different strokes for different folks.

I know a few who aren't but even then, they'll still watch a game if they're around others.

I love gymnastics and ice sports, but find myself indifferent to almost all others (baseball, football, etc).

I just wasn't sure where to place this topic, and the Lounge tends to get shuffled around a lot.

I watch some parts of the Olympics, and a few of my favorite films involve sports, like "Field of Dreams" or "Cool Runnings". But when it comes to watching actual sports on TV, or playing them myself, there's almost zero interest.

Used to watch Michael Jordan back in the day but otherwise could care less about basketball. Would use to watch the Superbowl just for the commercials but now I DVR it & fast forward through the game bits to get to the commercials.

No it isn't. not really anyway. Also, you're on a nerdy super hero forum. Those of us who are big sports fans are in the minority here I'd imagine.

Hmmm, not in to sports? Not one? Aside from American football, football (soccer), basketball, and baseball...how about boxing? UFC? Swimming? Volleyball? Golf? Hockey? Seriously? Not one of those?

Aside from a childhood affinity for baseball, and playing on a neighborhood basketball team for 2 weeks (coach got a better job), sports haven't interested me much at all in my life. I like some kinds of martial arts, but I don't want to see people beat each other up just for the "fun" of it. I used to watch wrestling with my cousin as a kid, but it all became too commercial.

Most people are actually like that. Sports fans are just obnoxious and loud and make everyone feel excluded if they don't like sports. So some people just learn the basics to pretend to know sports. It's especially like that if you live outside a sports city.

Tbh if I didn't grow up in Jacksonville I'm not sure if I would have gotten into sports at all.

I have not ever followed sports on a regular basis. I don't even watch the Super Bowl.

I'm predominately an NFL guy (and even there I couldn't discuss X's & O's or name more than a handful of players on any given team),but I usually take some kind of interest in the playoff/championship of any given sport.

I also have an interest in boxing to some extent.

I tried watching it once, and walked away from the TV by halftime. So many sports are more about the hype than the game, which is just disheartening to me. I've never been a fan of football, and sports statistics don't matter to me either. At this point, the only way I'd watch a whole game for anything is if substance returned to being the main focus.

Yeah, word is that Joshua_B posted a picture of himself and someone pointed out that he was Moviefan2k4. Remember that guy? So since he was a previously banned member, he got re-banned.

Wow I thought he got banned for not liking sports. Haha

Had he posted a picture of himself before as Moviefan2k4? Kind of stupid to post another picture on such a large forum and not expect someone to recognize you unless you've had lots of facial surgery or lost tons of weight.

I enjoy sparring, practice sword-fighting, and throwing a football with friends. But watching sports bores me into a coma.

I'm very emotional when it comes to my sports teams, but I can say, quite emphatically, that I loathe being a vehicle owner. I regard all cars with controlled hostility, particularly the ones I've owned over the years. When I get to be an old man and no longer need to have immediate transportation, I'll give up being a car owner with no regrets.

I love hockey and snowboarding and, to a lesser extent, tennis. But I've never cared for the more "popular" sports like football and baseball. I find both to be extremely boring. I used to like basketball as a kid, but, I don't know...I guess I outgrew it. I can't recall the last time I watched a game.

He had posted a picture of himself as well as linked himself to his YouTube page. The dude was a character.
