Tonight is going to be epic.
That axe scene... oh my.
Felt like a bit of a rewind there at the very end, coupled with the folks watching Superman turn back time. Interesting to see Vera back in the fold, so I'm wondering if Shayla's death will be a factor again next season.
My DVR messed up, and I missed the last minutes of the finale.
Was that the dealer that killed Shayla? Did he kill Darlene?
Holy ****, that finale... might be one of my favorites of all time. The way it wrapped up all of the 3 seasons, essentially. The growth in Elliot/Mr. Robot. The revelations... oh my.
Then that M83 climax with the Enter key, leading into the Fiona Apple post-credits and Vera cameo... bravo, Esmail, bravo.
So, are they gonna do some weird time travel aspect with this show? They allude to it a LOT.
Solid season finale. I don't know about you guys, but I was so glad they axed the mole (pun intended)... That dude was a horrible actor throughout the season.
Undoubtedly the best season of 2017, no contest.
Man, Joey Badass scares the hell out of me on this show.
Mr Robot likely to end with season 4
Christian Slater has been chatting with Collider about his new film The Wife, and in the interview he flagged up a runtime error (sorry) for one of our favourite shows. It seems that this will be the end for fsociety...
"Yeah, season 4, and I believe that will be the last season. (Show creator) Sam [Esmail] always said it was going to be somewhere in that zone, and he didnt want to go further than what he could creatively contribute to that storyline. So, I think that season 4 will be it. I think theyre in the writers room, as we speak, putting it all together, but I have no idea what its gonna be, or if Im gonna be floating in and out of scenes. I have no idea, so well see what happens."
I feel like they could probably wrap the show up next season and provide a satisfying conclusion.
Mr Robot isn't really one of those shows that feels like it could run for a long time without turning to trash.
If substantiated by Esmail...well, that's fine. It's still a great and creative show to watch, but like The Leftovers, I respect a show that ends on its own terms rather than just going on, even though I don't think Esmail and the writers would let the creativity on a show like this to lapse.
Sam said 4 or 5 during season 2... but, last year they said 5 is now the complete plan.
Season 1 was Act 1
Season 2 was bonus... and a prologue to Act 1
Season 3 was Act 2 part 1
Season 4 will be Act 2 part 2
Season 5 will be Act 3.
All based upon his original film script, with obvious changes and extensions.
When does season 4 premiere?
Probably not until later next year. No date has been announced yet.
Theyve been writing for a while now, and filming starts tail end of this year...
Usually airs in October-December, expect it next fall/winter.
And so it's true.
As long as they are concluding it because Esmail believes that it's the right time to do so, I'm fine with it.
I just hope they wrap it up sufficiently. It feels like we're right in the middle of the story, not at the end, so I hope it doesn't feel rushed.
I believe in Esmail.
Hes pretty much had his plan overall. Im guessing the next part of Act 2 is the next 6-8 episodes and it was easier to knock out Act 3 into 4-6 episodes as part of one season that to over flesh them out with filler for an 8-episode S5.
But, itll be so hard to let this show and its characters go. Its my favorite show, and probably the best overall in acting, writing, music, and directing ever... for me. Every episode gets me. Ive never have been amazed, cried, yelled, or sat in utter horror as I have to this show. Its like Mad Men, The Leftovers, a playoff hockey game, and Halloween had a baby.
This show has definitely raised the bar in a number of ways, most notably in its approach to technical accuracy. It will be sorely missed.
