I think that is awesome of him to drive a 95' Saturn and not some bling'd out huge SUV simply because he has made nice money. Some people don't care about cars for any purpose other than a means of transportation - cool little kid.

The laws have change over the years to prevent child stars from being robbed by parents which was common in the 70s, 80s and early 90s (see the Coogan Law).

True, but they can still regulate how much he is able to spend and I think he just turned 18 which is just above the age of being a minor, so maybe he hasn't gotten around to getting a new car with some of his hard earned money. Looks like he's going to get his chance.
