Hannah Montana, the years FIRST BIG HIT?!

Apparently, due to such high ticket sales they are extending this in the theaters and it won;t just be showing for a week. I read the reviews online and they were actually pretty favorable. That Disney...Hilary Duff now Miley Cyrus..ha.

Everyone needs to relax. Just because she's succesful at 15 doesn't mean you guys can automatically assume that she will become a Paris, Brittany or Lindsay. I really hope she becomes more succesful, and can set an example for this generations girls. I'm 15 btw, and my girlfriend actually doesn't mind her, I don't either.

Someone's in love...

Well, guys have Cloverfield and Rambo.

That's The Family Channel for ya, always spawning talent who need to be spoon-fed their way to the top(modern versions of Paris Hilton if you ask me).
It's the Disney Channel actually, which in itself isn't really a surprise. Pretty much everything that comes on the Disney Channel becomes a big hit no matter how dumb it is, look at Hgh School Musical. And like I've said in another thread, Disney mostly targets girls anyway, which is why a majority of their shows are about girls.

Also, girls liked the Monkees; yet the guys in the group hated that.

You see it all starts when they hit 18... then the innocence goes away and they are like "alright... I'm an adult... and I am a rich ass b****". And then everything goes BOOM... if you know what I mean.

Montana is the Lizzie Maguire of this generation for pre-teens. She's selling tickets and girls like her, so what? I don't get the pitch fork rioters here. Unless the product is absolute garbage that I loathe(such as Meet the Spartans) I really don't complain about these things. Let her enjoy her time to shine, she may not be as far 5 years from now.

Btw... how's Duffy these days?

last i heard she was doin really well

and as far as Hannah montana goes
she is the lizzie mcguire of the present
her career will advance like ms duffs

then someone else will come forward

Circle of life type thing

Now I got compelled to DL the Lion King soundtrack... thanks a lot... might as well listen to my first Hanah Montana song while I am at it... o wait... I did that when I saw this thread yesterday... phew...

Well... I just did what I said above... and I could have swore Elton John sounded better when the movie first came out...

:cmad: :cmad: hannah is teh sux. WHY WON'T LITTLE GIRLS GET THAT?!?!?!?! :cmad: :cmad:

Because they're LITTLE GIRLS, and their tastes are likely vastly different from yours, seeing as you're (I'm assuming) not a little girl.

:whatever:

Why is anyone surprised by this?

Hannah isn't THAT bad. It reminds me of some of the random pop songs of the 90's. At least she's not off getting pregnant.

It's these same snotty kids that made the Harry Potter franchise a hit, why?! I don't know.

The target demographic reaction to this movie is proof that there is no hope for this generation's tweenage girls growing up to be normal, mentally healthy women.

Yeah, but the tweens that made Lizzie Maguire popular are all starting college now. In a couple years, there will be tweens who don't even know what Lizzie Maguire was. Disney Channel is a revolving door of tween starlets. They come off of an assembly line somewhere I think, being made by starving illegal immigrants wearing Mickey Mouse hats while a bloodstained ghost of Walt Disney supervises, whip in hand, from atop a giant scorpion who has a Donald Duck voice.

Harry Potter is actually good. And it inspires kids to read, unlike Hannah Montana, which doesn't teach kids jack****.
Lizzie Maguire isn't even that old.
Lizzie McGuire ended, what, five-six years ago? That's enough for a slight generation gap. The girls who were 8-12 then are now going into high school/high school graduates. So there is a difference.
