Hans Zimmer, who worked on all three films in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, is set to reteam with the filmmaker once again, as Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder have tapped him to score their Superman pic "Man of Steel."

Legendary Pictures and Atlas Entertainment produced the superhero tentpole with Syncopy, Cruel & Unusual Films and DC Entertainment.

In addition to "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" and this summer's "The Dark Knight Rises," Zimmer worked with Nolan on "Inception," for which he received an Oscar nomination. He has been nominated for nine Oscars and previously won for Disney's "The Lion King."

John Williams was nominated for an Oscar for creating the iconic theme to Richard Donner's original "Superman" in 1978.

"Man of Steel" will mark the first Snyder-directed pic on which the helmer hasn't worked with composer Tyler Bates, who scored "Dawn of the Dead," "300," "Watchmen" and "Sucker Punch."

"Man of Steel," which hits theaters on June 14, 2013, stars Henry Cavill as the titular superhero, while the rest of the cast includes Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue and Christopher Meloni.

Zimmer is repped by WME.

There will we be some massive drumming on the score!!!

I don't know if this has been talked about, but among these drummers are Danny Carey of Tool, and Jason Bonham.

Which is pretty ****ing awesome.

Tool and Led Zeppelin, huh? That's pretty big. I guess they just went all out and got the biggest rock-drummers on the planet. I wonder who the others were.

The Last mix of #manofsteel cue was delivered today!!! Onwards with the soundtrack CD and my new film #Paranoia #filmscoring

Man; what I wouldn't give to be one of the few who get to see this at the early test screenings, especially since the film is more or less complete at this point, with the remaining time probably being spent to just touch up on the effects here and there.

hope we hear some music soon for those curious zimmer scored ron howard's rush starring hemsworth and a cool little track "Formula 1" was released

Did the 'Family and Friends' screening have a finished soundtrack?

Now I feel better about the early reactions.

I wouldn't even say reactions, the guy from Latino Review said the execs loved it and one was a rumour that Henry Cavill was replaceable.

It wasn't a rumor. That was someone's response from the screening.

Not confirmed though we don't even know if the person was genuine at all

Whose?

That's a rhetorical question. We don't know. An anonymous hearsay response on the internet isn't worth much.

I'd give Poni more credit than that.

I just listened to the first 7 minutes of this:

Zimmer is very talented no doubt. I hope he makes an AWESOME score for MOS...if it's anything like what was in that video I'll be happy.

Off subject: I liked Patrick Doyle's work on Thor. Good stuff.

Speaking of Mayimbe, he seems to have a problem with Poni who Mayimbe claims talks crap about him behind his back but is eerily quiet in his direct presence. He also mentions that Poni tries to discredit his scoops. It's over on Mayimbe's twitter.

The next time I run into @Poni_Boy I'm going to put serious hurting on him for talking quite a lot of **** about me. The balls on this kid.

In person @poni_boy lacks the balls the he clearly displays behind the keyboard like the **** talking coward that he is.

So since @poni_boy has quite the problem with me, I'm going to solve it for him.

In person, @Poni_Boy is about 5'2" a buck & some change. When he is in my presence, he is eerily quiet around me.

But when @poni_boy gets behind a keyboard, he grows quite the hairy pair, & trolls forums trying to always discredit me & my scoops.

So since he is such an internet tough guy, I'm going to put that the test just like any Spartan King would do.

See the hulk fists in my avatar pic? I'm going to have all sorts of fun using them. :

But this one troll, who again is quiet around me in my presence, spits venom & vitriol consistently. It's been ongoing. I ignored it mostly.

That's one side of it. Is it better to talk behind someone's back or air it out on the interwebz? Funny stuff.

I don't know enough to side with either. All I care about is getting scoops wherever they come from :P

Ooooo, a geek fight.

I remember all the fights around CBM. Hahaha that was the worst of it.
