Dear Jason,

It was nearly 54 years ago when my husband Wallace borrowed $50 to bring me and our new born boy home from the hospital back in Seneca, South Carolina. Today, a lot of people know John as an advocate, a senator, and maybe even as the next president. But Wallace and I will always know him simply as our son.

Next Sunday, June 10th, is our son John's birthday, and I'd like to ask you to help celebrate with us. Nothing would make John happier on his birthday than seeing how many people share his vision for this country and are ready to lend a hand.

We know everyone can't give a lot. But it's not about how much, it's about how many.

If every one of us gives just $6.10 to John's campaign before 6/10, we can do so much together for this country. Let's make John's birthday a celebration for America. Please add your $6.10 today:

And what's a birthday celebration without dessert? If you're able to give $6.10 to the campaign before 6/10 I'll send you a copy of my old family recipe for pecan pie—it's quite a favorite around here.

I wish I could make enough pie to thank everyone who supports my son. But the next best thing is to send you my secret recipe and hope that on June 10th we can both enjoy a slice.

Thank you,

P.S. Thank you so much for supporting John. Please do what you can to help him.

I want that pie! I'm totally donating.

But just for the pie. Just kidding. Go Edwards!

And while we're at it, why don't we all give him $6.10 to help pay for a nice haircut, too?

He needs the money to pay for his $6m mansion he just built

I ****ing hate John Edwards. That guy's the phoniest politician I've ever met.

If everyone on the Hype gives John Edwards $6.10 - he may have enough money to cover his next salon appointment.

Boys and girls - lets make this a reality.

Most politicians are phony. And in the last election John Edwards was phony as well. I think a stand out difference about John Edwards, which is a stron testament to how he's changed, is the fact that he admitted it.

He admitted that he voted for the Iraq war for political reasons, because his advisors told him to. He said "I am sorry." He admitted that in the last election he was trying to be a good candidate, but this election he's trying to be a good man. And I believe him.

I think the death of his son, and his wife's cancer has changed him, and helped him realize what's important in life.

How many politicians come straight out and say that? They all operate just like he was last election. They all do. But he actually came out and was honest about it. And you know what? While all the other candidates act wishy washy with double talk trying to take both sides of the issues, he comes out with clarity and new ideas. The guy has the most ambitious energy plan out of any of them, giving the oil companies the finger, and he's campaigning on his plan to eliminate poverty in America in 30 years.

When his two atheist bloggers made negative comments about Christains, he was pressured into firing them by the media, and despite the fact that it's hurting him, he wont fire them, because he believes they are good people who made a mistake, and want to help the world.

How is this John Edwards any more phony than your average politician? He's by far less phony. He's not playing it safe. He's not double talking, to try and take both sides of the issues. He's admitted his sins. How is this not the opposite of phony?

Saying "sorry" about voting for the war doesn't change the fact that he voted for it. It's like if a mass murderer apologized for killing an entire family-- it doesn't make the consequences of his actions go away.

What I'm saying is that politics is an ugly game full of mud and all kinds of bull&hit, and we have a guy trying to climb out of the bull$hit, who wants to give us something besides bull$hit.

John Kerry and Hillary clinton also voted for the war, and for the same reason as well. Yet the only one who's giving us an apology and the truth about why they voted that way is John Edwards.

The truth does count for something, and we can't say that the only one who's admitted his sins, is the phoniest one.

He's not trying to climb out of the bull*****-- he's trying to win the Democratic nomination. He's running for President, and he's doing the best he can to smear the image of the other candidates by trying to appeal to the liberal left. Hillary, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden should not have to apologize for authorizing the war in Iraq, especially since the majority of Americans supported it in 2002. Instead of focusing on what happened four and a half years ago, we should be focusing on how to get ourselves out of that mess and emerge with some iota of dignity. And, to be perfectly blunt, neither candidate has yet come up with a solution to do that, and I have a feeling most voters are going to realize that all Edwards really is is a pompous bag of wind who speaks in stolen catch-phrases and hypocritical rhetoric.

You might not like him, but your post is not truthful about the situation.

How is he not being truthful about the situation? He summed it up quite nicely.

All it takes to get the troops out of Iraq, is to give the order to come home.

You throw inmature insults at John Edwards, but what is your basis or supporting argument to back up your claim that he is a pompous bag of wind?

The majority of Americans did not have access to intelligence reports the way these guys did. They voted the way they did for political reasons.

And if this guy isn't trying to climb out of the bull****, then why is he the only one with an energy plan? Both parties are corrupt and that's why nobody else has one.

It may be cliched but...

I Believe In StorminNorman.

1. He's not smearing the other candidates.

2. He has a solution to get out of Iraq. Whille the other candidates refuse to take clarity, he gives us specifics.

3. he is not a pompus bag of wind with such and such.
