Just got off work...and the weather is stinking so most of the stuff going on today is cancelled...and all my friends are already out so I have nothing to do but read comics and talk on the hype....
Sucks to be you. Here in Halifax Nova Scotia it was sunny with clear skys and 25 all day.

Not that I did anything, didn't plan too.

The only downer is that our moronic PM (Steven "*****e-bag" Harper, whom I hate) decided to try and buy votes by lowering the GST to 6% today. Sorry Steve my vote not for sale. I'll take that one less percentage point and still vote for the NDP. The sooner he's gone the better.

So, what did everyone do on the big day?

Me, I went to the beach, got some what of a sun stroke due to my body's intollance to the sun. It's crazy to be allergic to such a thing and am really starting to think I truly am a vampire. After that, I had some beers & hoots with friends on the deck, enjoying the weather (as much as possible) and listening to Canadian music. Nothin' huge but, it was all good!

I went to the Farmer's Market, ate some good food, hung out with my wife & kid at the park, watched fireworks, watched Matlock, fell asleep... :)

:( :o

:)

Sounds like an awesome Canada Day to me man. Spendin' time with family can't be beat.

I missed the fireworks...

I got to work 13 hours.

Ah, I'm about to do a similar thing actually. Get a 'real' job, hunker down and work as much as humanly possilbe. I'm not paying off debt though. I'm saving money and getting the hell outta dodge.

Harper has kept every promise that he pledged. Unlike the Liberals, where every day brought a new promise, which was never kept.

That's great....

Unfortunately, most of the stuff he pledged sucks monkey balls ala conservative style.

Indeed. He's ruining our country and taking away just about everything that makes us Canadian. Worse, he's a big baby too.

I dispise that man.

Happy Canada Day!!!!!!!!!!

Explain....

Sure, I'll give two examples.

War. Harper is a war man and is activily promoting our role as combatants not as peacekeepers. He's pushing for Canadians to back a fight in Afganistan that shouldn't even be happening. We're not there trying to settle disputes anymore. We're there attacking, destorying, killling. Canada is known on a world stage as peacekeepers and now, that image is being tarnished by a war mongrel... and he's only getting started.

Mark my words folks, there will be a 'terrorist' on our soil in the very near future. This attack will happen so that our citizens believe the war is justified and worse, this will promote more deployment of troops and supplies to fight a war of lies. Be preparred for that and be preparred for the fact that this attack being an inside job, just like 9/11 was. (by the way, http://canadawantsthetruth911.blogspot.com)

Second, our Environment. Harper has backed out of an agreement that was signed by many nations in the world to stop our Greenhouse gas emissions and/or to seriously reduce them. I'm talking about the Kyoto Accord. This news was shocking to every prominate figurehead on earth, many of them agreeing that Canada was the last place on earth they'd think would pull out of that because we actually care about our country and the people/animals and plantlife that fill it. Now, Harper has dropped that and instead says that he has some 'Made in Canada' plan in the works, which I think is bull**** anyway. Harper doesn't care about the environment. Harper cares about Alberta and the Oil. Anything that stands in the way of that is a threat to his homeland. Kyoto, stands in the way of that.

Besides, the Kyoto Accord would never have happened without Canadian persuasion. Jesus, the Accord is pretty much a 'Made in Canada' plan which we were successfully able to negotiate an agreemennt with many countries in the world. Now, those countries don't trust us... and why should they?

The only thing that Harper has done for the environment; the only thing in his budget, the only thing yet to be talked about is tax credits for public transit. This is wrong. This is very wrong.

And Harper is only starting. If he gets majority in the next election, this country is ****ed.

So passing an accountability act so that his government and future governments can be better held to account sucks?

Or building the military back to where it needs to be, after 30 years of systematic neglect sucks?

Or the promise to have a set election day so that the federal parties cannot pick dates that are most favourable to them sucks?

Or cutting the GST by 14% sucks?

Or giving families $1,200 a year so that they can better support their kids sucks?

Remember, he's only been in office for 6 months and is running a minority government, so his ability to govern is quite compromised and he's still done more in those 6 months than the Federal Liberals have done in 13 years and they had strong majority governments where they could govern at will.

He's far from ruining our country. He's building back the fundamentals that the liberals have torn asunder.

1. The Liberals have avoided helping the US on the war of terror and only minimally in Afghanistan and Osama still put us at #6 on the list of countries to be attacked and overthrown. At some point you'll get the idea that they don't hate us because we attacked them, they hate us because we aren't Islamicists as they are.

2.The Kyoto wasn't even possible and virtually every country that has signed on has not done much to achieve the goals, because they cannot be achieved without mass starvation and poverty. It's nothing more than a disguised transfer of wealth from richer countries to poorer ones without doing anything in practicality to control pollution. This is why the US didn't bother to ratify it.

3. If, due to a tax deduction on public transit, more people take the bus, that is going to reduce pollution and this is what you claim you want.

The war on terror is a farce. It's a threat created by the elite just to have something to attack and keep everyone controlled by fear. Everyone knows that by now, don't they? The fact that we are now fighting that war (ie; protecting the oil line in Afganistan) really pisses me off.

Harper has the same beliefs as the Neo-Cons who run the US and a lot of the rest of the world and he's already following paths that Bush has taken. Any leader that looks up to Bush is no leader that I want, let me tell you. Soon, you'll see a created terror attack on our soil to submit us into believing this war is useful. Western civilizations have been doing this for decades and Harper wants Majority bad enough to do it.

Harper is bad man Warlord. He's in bed with the Bilderbergs (look it up) and I will not sit by and let our country be taken over moreso by the globalists who want to enslave the entire population.

Wake up man. Wake up.

You call that an environmental platform though? Jesus, are you that dense? You think providing some tax credits for busrides is going to stop global warming? You think that's going to clean our air, soil and water? Man, you really are out of touch.

Canada's environment is fairly pristine and hardly in danger.

I'm all for keeping the environment clean and even improving on it, if possible. However, Kyoto was nothing more than a transfer of wealth from wealthier countries to poorer ones without doing anything at all for the environment because the most polluting countries are the poorer ones and they were exempt.
