I was inspired by these threads here:

Examples off the top of my head:
*"Dirty Diana" by Michael Jackson

*"Black Cat" by Janet Jackson

*"Fighter" by Christina Aguilera

*"Free Your Mind" by En Vogue

*"Crazy Horses" by the Osmonds

*"Zombie" by the Cranberries

*"War Machine" by KISS (it was co-written by Bryan Adams, so in a way, it's an uncharacteristically "bad ass song" for him)

*"Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins

*"Helter Skelter" by the Beatles

How is Danger Zone a hard-edged song? It's still a typical `80s pop song. Which is what Kenny Loggins is known for.

It's harder edged than the type of stuff that Loggins is normally known for! :whatever:

Not really. It has a little more rock in it, but "hard-edge" is not something I would use to describe that song. Harold Faltermeyer's score was more hardcore than that song.

Given the blatant homo-eroticism of Top Gun, Danger Zone could easily be seen as a song about butt sex, now that I think about it!

So, I guess, Playing with the Boys is about everything else.

I couldn't care less about the Black Peas, but the chick from them has a song on Slash's latest cd; its pretty bad ass.

Does Hall & Oates' Out Of Touch counts? The vibes from the song is kinda different compare to most songs they've sung. Just a thought.

Can we please stay on the topic!? This thread isn't about discussing the Top Gun soundtrack! :whatever:

Their debating whether or not that is hard edged or not. Perfectly on topic. You just don't like what they're saying.

Singersongwriter Lisa Miskovsky doing death metal with In Flames... does that count?

Dead End is such a great song. I can't wait to see In Flames this summer.

I would brag about that too haha. Thats awesome. I would love if they played Dead End.

Kelly Clarkson has a weird way of going from bubble gum pop to hard edge rock on most of her albums. A few examples:

Also, if this thread was in the 80s I think Ministry would count aswelll hehe going from gothic pop ala Depeche Mode to real industrial metal was a very good decision by Al!
