Well I guess Nolan is going with the greyish lighter fabric armour looking color. Which makes perfect sense because in the sequel he's going to face off some bad ass difficult mofo's.

Page to work on Costumes

Friday, December 1, 2006 - 4:39 PM According to two online sources, Gary Page will have somthing to do with costumes on TDK. From SHOW AND STAY:

"Gary Page who is currently designing for the new HARRY POTTER film and will soon be working on the next BATMAN."

And from THE INDEPENDENT:

"As the fabric buyer for the BATMAN sequel, he is busy sourcing stretch fabrics for the outfit worn by the man in black, played by Christian Bale, buying only the very finest materials in Paris."

It looks to me that Mr. Page will be working for costume designer Lindy Hemming, who will return for TDK, I've been told. Thanks to "Bambang" for the links.

UPDATE: A BOF source has confirmed that Mr. Page is working on TDK and promises more details if he can get them.

Where does it say greyish?

nowhere. but this does jive, if he will be working on the suit, with the whole rumor of them attempting a lighter, streamlined costume.

Its a logical deduction that since he's sourcing stretch fabrics a lighter streamlined costume will result.

However, I still don't get how this connects to the costume being grey?

please be grey frabric. please be grey frabric. please be grey frabric.

Black rubber sucks! It really really sucks!

I squeed when I saw this earlier - while the BB costume didn't bother me (it was a prototype) in the slightest, I'd LOVE to see a more fabric-y costume - something that is both practical for fighting and looks awesome.

Hmmm...interesting.

While I think the All Black Rubber suit works well on the big screen, it would be nice if they someway find a way to make the more traditional Black and Grey costume for a Batman movie.

Most fanfilms always use the Black and grey concepts and for some of them it worked well , taken in the fact that they are wroking with an extremly samller budget.

No please no grey.It can remain black and at the same time be streamlined and mold to the body very well. Besides iam sure that nolan would never use a grey suit, it goes against everythign he has done and in life action wouldn't look good. I think they're gonna end up with a spandex like fabric that will stick to the body and take bales' shape. And the armor parts could be hard black leather and slightly thinner than the armor patches in BB so the suit ends up looking more stylish and slimmer.

They should also make the legs thighs area look slimer, so the suit sticks more to bale's body.

This great news, now with this news bale has more reason to get in the greatest shape of his life. as bulked as in BB and more ripped.

nolan said in the first movie the reason he wears black and not grey as some purists would prefur, is because his batman uses alot of stealth and concealment..black works better than grey.

anyone ever consider that her work may be for Bruce Wayne's clothes, and not Batman, or maybe even The JOker, or if included Penguin or Black Mask. Why would they use the finest fabrics on batman?

Just a thought to consider, just cause they say the man in black, doesnt automatically mean its a bat

I know the grey is more true to the comic but I think it looks like crap on screen. Seriously folks, how scary is a guy in a spandex suit going to look? Spidey doesn't look intimidating... Supes doesn't look intimidating... Bats does.

Fine make it more streamlined... fabric with built in armor, but ffs people, don't put the guy in a grey spandex suit no matter HOW hot he is! :o

True, so true.

I dont imagine the overal design of the suit changing, afterall why go through the trouble of introducing how he aquires his suit only to change it a movie later? So I'd say same design, newer, sleeker material

Batman doesn't need to wear black rubber to be covert or safe. You know why?

Prep time.

also he's the goddamed Batman.

The Batman Dead End costume is pretty intimidating. Especially the mask. I wouldn't want to go up against that guy in a dark alley.

People aren't scared of Batman because of his black rubbery costume anyway. They're scared because of his reputation and legendary skills.

While this is all true... if Rachel tasered Bats while he was wearing a spandex suit he'd be one sorry mofo.

There must be a happy medium! :P

The pask is indeed very evil looking and the guy wearing the suit is jacked but, to me, he's a guy in a spandex suit with black faux underwear on the outside... that takes me out of the whole "OMG he's kicking ass!" mindset.

Note: I haven't seen dead end but I've seen a lot of the suit pictures from it during the previous round of suit threads :)

*nods* I'd be fine with that. All I really want is something that looks more flexible.
