I didnt laugh but the poster doesnt feel right. I think it's because he is such a dark and mysterious character, so he just doesnt look very good in posters like these.

He's more suitable for darker posters imo

Yeah, I think that's it.

yep...by comparison dhpt2 close up character posters are lazy...even the earlier voldie poster for dhpt1 looked better than that.

What are the chances "Leaving Hogwarts" or a variation of it is used at the end of the film aka epilogue?

Pretty high, I'd say. I'm going to be bawling my eyes out during that scene either way.

It's the last scene of a franchise that started 10 years ago...of course that's going to happen haha!

I don't know about bawling, but I will at the very least shed a tear or two.

I'm going to drink after it's over. Drink to all the good memories.

i think i'll be really upset if they don't use williams theme at the very last frame or whatever...as a send off. i'm not in the boat that just says "use williams' music just because"...no, I'm all for the new score, but i can think of no better way to wrap it up than with the appropriate uplifting music from the original movie's score. Just those last 30 seconds or whatever for it all to soak in like they ended sorceror's stone.

Regarding the "Leaving Hogwarts" theme, I just thought I'd bring up that at the test screening a little while back, the theme did indeed play over the end of the film. Granted, the entire cut used temp score from the other movies (from what I know), but the fact that it was there, and apparently worked so beautifully (according to some viewers) could perhaps work in favor of it staying.

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge proponent to the idea of having the theme play through the final moments of the film, and I think I might be disappointed if it doesn't show. While I firmly believe in Desplat's abilities to hit an emotional mark, I feel like nothing will be able to make me feel the way that Williams' beautiful theme would in that particular scene. Here's hoping it works out.

The final moments of philosophers stone are imo the best in all of the Harry Potter films and I would love for leaving Hogwarts to play at the end of DH part 2, but I'm thinking Desplat will do his own rendition of leaving Hogwarts. Either way whether its Williams original piece or Desplats rendition I will be happy.

From Conrad Pope's Facebook page :

"Just finished recording with Alexandre Desplat and the London Symphony Orchestra the last of the Harry Potter scores at Abbey Road. It's been over 10 years since I worked with John Neufeld on John Williams' trailer for the first film. Five films (for me at least) and hundreds of thousands of notes later, it's finally over. Hard to grasp. Back to Los Angeles soon."

Can I just say that WBs marketing of this film is down right lazy. I understand this franchise has a built in audience at this point. I also understand the film will sell itself, but I don't give a damn. I want some type of effort by WB to get me in theaters in opening day. Their lack of originality and general banality with the marketing of this film is starting to piss me off. Its one month away and honestly if I wasn't a die hard fan I wouldnt give a flying **** about this film. The summer is crowded and there are other films working their butts off to be seen and known and I would much rather reward them than reward WB for assuming I will be there opening day. WB is treating this like a marriage. They think after 10 years they don't have to try anymore and we will still be there for them without question. I don't care if it's 10 years or 1 year I expect some effort. I like all the other fans will be there day one, but if I had the will power to wait for this on blu-ray I would just to prove a point. As a matter of fact, with this being the last one I wouldn't mind it getting somewhat raked across the coals box office wise. Its not like I have to worry about budget cuts next time or that a sequel wont be made cause there isn't one to make. I want WB to know that you can't take us for granted and take the cheap way out. I was so excited for the hype and marketing, but this is just pathetic. I saw better marketing with my senior year school play. Rant over.
