I was watching a funny bit by Bill Maher about how Americans in America's prime dressed the part (i.e. people didn't go on planes in sweat pants, or wear pajamas to school). Exaggerated of course, but, after walking through a Wal Mart... you start to wonder.

Now this.

Is it just a coincidence that Americans are getting increasingly out of shape, and that the country is in a state of decline, or could there be an actual correlation?

Without reading the link I will just say....

Yes, yes, no, and blame Walmart and reality shows.

However, with no reality shows, there is no E! The Soup hosted by...........Joel McHale.

I place the blame solely on the Fifa 2014 Collectible Coins industry!

People used to take pride in things.

Also, we used to think we were better than the Nazis, the Soviets, and the terrorists, and now it's like we either stopped believing it or just don't care anymore.

Seems like a nostalgia-driven, rose-colored-glasses tinted view of the past.

Yes...in so many ways in answer to the question.

We just....don't care anymore...about anything.

Except McDonald's and reality shows.

Honestly, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for the Democrats to have to deal with an entire shutdown over one Bill that was legally sanctioned. The ramifications of this are quite scary - what does this pose for future relations between both parties.

As a European, i'm just surprised :p
