Hey guys! I'm thinking about cosplaying Batman pretty soon, and I'm wondering, has he ever been slimmer or more skinny, kinda more like Spider-Man or The Flash? I have a more lean build, not nearly as much mass as Batfleck and I want to make sure the suit I go with suits my body type, now obviously there's Batman Beyond but I would prefer the more traditional Batman.

Here's one of my recent workout progress pictures for reference:

I'm sure there have been a few comics that drew him skinny. He was rather slim in Beware the Batman.

Dick Grayson had that build as Batman but not Bruce Wayne,Although he was close to that in Earth One

To be fair you don't exactly look 'skinny' yourself. I think you could pull off a convincing Batman with that physique. It's pretty good.

Unfortunately I can't remember when and who, but there have been several iterations that have made Batman much more nimble ninja and much less buff brawler.

So I did a little digging, and for most of the 70's and 80's Batman was much leaner than he has been at other times. Still ripped as hell of course, but a noticeably slimmer frame than Superman's.

And man... I'd be uber impressed to see someone do the classic 80's Batman with the blue cape and cowl. That's the look I grew up on and one you just don't see anymore.

I dont think the blue works in live-action. It makes no sense why he would wear that even if it looked cool back in the day in a comic.

Depends what you mean by slim. Batman's never exactly been scrawny but if you're referring to him being more cut instead of bulky, then yes. The 300-pound muscle look didn't start becoming mainstream till the 90's in the comics. Personally, I much prefer the cut look over the bulky one.

I didn't say I want to see it in a movie, just that I'd love to see it done well as cosplay.

Christian Bale was practically Ghandi at his most malnourished in TDK. There's your skinny Bats.

LOL, I kid.
