Comics Has Superman gone through with his threat to renounce his US citizenship?

Just curious- has Superman gone through with his threat to renounce his US citizenship, as was made clear in an edition of Action Comics earlier this year( the reason to do so seems dubious to me: depite his "Truth, Justice And The American Way" shtick, he is not- and NEVER has been to my mind- been as iconically identified with the United States as say, Captain America, or Cap#s closest DC counterpart, Wonder Woman and Cap frequently reminds foreigners that he represents the IDEALS of America and NOT the policies of a given Administration)?

No. It was a one-off story in an anniversary issue that the media made WAY WAY WAY WAY too big a deal out of. They never had any plans to follow through with anything but the main Superman Vs. Lex Luthor story in that.
