It use to be that telekinesis was good for blocking and moving objects but lately I've notice a trend to use telekinesis as the new dues ex machina

Think about it, what can't you not do if you possess telekinesis?

Aah, I've wondered this question for a loooong time now, my friend.......and it's still unanswered :csad:

Oh dear. Storm fans complaining about a character's powers becoming a Deus Ex Machina.

This is campy irony, right? :woot:

Oh, and while keeping in mind it's all in good fun... you guys soooo set that one up. :woot:

So your opinion on this subject.......

Sigh.:csad: Darth I really want to know your thoughts on this thread, not pointless Storm bashing.

FYI, Storm can also be consider a telekinetic.:oldrazz:

Oh. Telekinesy is no fun because it's waaayyy too versatile. :woot:

Better? :woot:

I dont think so. I think its mainly the Grey family that TK has become this extreme power for. Most other mutants, its nowhere near as impressive

Oh, and just to address Havok's post, I do mean in a "Jean and all her wanna-be's" capacity. :woot:

Thought it was obvious from the get-go we were talking about telekinesy when wielded by powerhouses???

Darth and everyone else, I apoligize for that little blow up there.

Anyway, I thought TK can do all of that because of the whole molecules thing???

It's all right. I know you still don't believe me when I say I love the f**k out of pre-CC-gone-mad Storm. :woot:

But to address your pre-edit post, I initially assumed the thread was a direct attack at Jean. :woot:

And NOOOO, that's not me defending her. :woot:

Just thought it was ironic to think of Jean as an all-powerful mutant and not mention Storm in the same sentence. *shrugs*

LOL, no I actually made this thread after I read a post about Psylocke using her TK to bend light to make herself invisible.

While I'm not sure if she actually did this in the comic, it did get me to wondering about telekinesis and it's full potential.

Yes, she actually did that in Exiles, but that's just Claremont and his habit to use the powers of his characters in ways they can't be used. You just have to read Excalibur to see all the things he's making Dazzler do with light (blades, shields...).

I don't think telekinesis is the new power cosmic. Any power written by an overcreative (and i don't say this in a good way) writer turns into that. Telekinesis is more often used as this because everyone and their mother has telekinesis right now.

MAn...

Don't get me started on THAT. It's freakin LIGHT, Chris. I know it's the MU, but, PLEASE, open a science book. :woot:

Or get over that creepy muse thingy. I'm a guy. Never had a muse and never will because I goddamn KNOW what goes on inside the artist's mind when *interacting* with said muse. :woot:

Claremont has the weirdest interpretations for powers. I did a WTF when Dazzler turned her light into a katana. It was like he was trying to emulate Psylocke there

Light into a katana?! BWUAHAHAHA!!!! Now that's funny. How can TK bend light? I thought Sue Storms was enough for us all :whatever:

her light is as strong as steel. Again, WTF???

Wonderful scan, she's pulling a Jean/Rachel look to me. Is there any more to the scan provided?

And I didn't know she CONTROLLED light. I just thought she created it from sound

It's CC.

It's not as if he was *known* for arbitrarily tweaking powers to his liking or anything. :woot:

Now thinking of it, it isn't that bad that she can flash brighter than a star, right? I mean, she can CREATE LIGHT, so it can make sense that it's brighter than a star.

So you agree that she can flash brighter than a star....?:woot:
