It certainly has with me, when i first watched SR i ever so slightly dissapointed with the 3rd act, i thought it was not action-packed or dramatic enough. But every subsequent viewing i have had of the movie i have just grown to love the 3rd act, its now the part of the movie i look forward to most. Everything from Superman getting into the elevator until the the end credits is just great viewing IMO, especially the beating, the lifting of NK and the subsequent unconscious descent from space.

This happened with anyone else?

like me you are now used to the movie. and you are watching it at home. but the first time you watched the movie in the theater and of course for the theater this is not an action movie.

Strangely enough I liked the third act most of all when I saw it in theaters .The rest of the movie was okay up until Superman actually got to do something in the third act .I hope for more third act with more action in the sequel.

For me, the movie kinda falls apart and drags on after Superman falls to the ground from throwing NK into space. I don't like the hospital scene, especially seeing Lois kiss Superman on the lips when she is still engaged to Richard. Seeing Superman in a hospital just seems out of place for me. Then he just gets up and flies away without thanking anyone for saving his life(if the doctors didn't remove that piece of kryptonite, it's possible he would have died). Then, Superman just showing up at the house and talking to Jason didn't seem right either. What if Richard walked by and saw this? I don't like the fact that we don't see Superman and Lois addressing the issue of them having a son together either.

I thought the 3rd act was the best part in the movie, first time I saw it. There's some really iconic moments and shots. It's just amazing.

Well the plane sequence used to be the part i looked forward to most when watched again the first few times, now it is the 3rd act i look forward too more, i just think the whole act is really. I did actually like it in the theater, but was also slight dissapointed by it as well, not anymore though.

I thought the third act was fantastic on my first viewing at the cinema, and I like it even more with each viewing, especially the fall back to earth after throwing NK into space. The score is particularly wonderful during that scene. I thought the NK beating sequence was very well acted by Brandon, and it's rather hard to watch personally. :super:

Why would it grow on me? Has some action or imagination been added on the DVD you have?

I wasn't real big on the hospital stay part of the movie. I guess it's grown on me though, like moss. I have lots of Superman Returns moss growing on me. Yes.

So basically when you dislike something, you've never changed your opinion on it over time? I find that hard to believe. That's the case with some of the people in this thread. I didn't like Road to Perdition at first, but with more viewings I started liking it more. It isn't hard to understand.

Some people just like to be *******s but justify it with the "opinion" bull.

I am with you, it's a very relevant question. I have experienced this situation many a time.

I do actually like the third act more now than I did after I saw it in theatres during this summer.

Short answer: NO

I kinda like the beginning - until Superboy saves the plane. I stop the movie when Lois passes out. If anything, seeing the movie more than one time really killed it for me. After the first time I was totally torn apart. I neither liked nor hated it. I just thought "So that's the new Superman!?" and saw it again the next day. Turned out to be the dumbest idea ever. I instantly analyzed the plot and in the end, nearly sleeping, I just hated the thing.
I tried to watch the bootleg several times but just allways stopped it in the middle or fast-forwarded through the rest.

I did like it on first viewing, just not that much, now i think its fantastic, with the beating scene as one of the best parts of it. Brandon was just great throughout the whole movie for me.

The third act is the best part IMO. It makes the movie for me.
