I used to think it was some early 90's slang trend, but it seems to have made it's way into the hall of fame along with "awesome". I'm not a fan of using the term myself, but it seems every day I hear someone say something is "sweet." When Napoleon Dynamite started using the phrase, I figured that was the end of it. Granted I know some guys that are cool that use the phrase, but inside I'm rolling my eyes and dying a little. It's not so much the word itself, but when some guy is like, "dude, that **** is sweeeet!" :whatever: I used to utilize the word "tight" in the same way, but kind of gotten over it.

sweet thread.

I think the term sweet is actually pretty rad and groovy.

probably in mainstream speech until another comedy character comes around using it and it takes up a new lease of life...

however in certain circles, it probably never has died out., i.e. extreme sports and the urban warrior crowds...

No it has not 'cause I just got to work in my sweet ride and last night I made sweet, sweet love to a girl I met at this sweet "Build Your Own Teddy Bear" shop.

I asked a girl the other day if she wanted to make sweet love by the fire. :o

I say it occasionally.

Not as much as I used to.

the term "played out" has become played out :csad:

The fact that this thread exists means "sweet" is probably played out, which in turn makes the usage of it much cooler.

I honestly would like Rad to make a comeback...I still use it sometimes.

"Tubular" was always an underground fav of mine. It's followed closely by "Mondo"

I say "schweet".

That's probably worse.

Mario?

yeah, basically anything that's the name of a level in the Super Mario World bonus world is a good catch phrase

Bowser's Castle?

Dan:"Hey let's go to the club. I hear there's some mondo babes there"
Dave:"Tubular!"
Dan:"Did you hear? The Tigers are in the World Series!"
Dave:"Bowser's Castle!"

 Do one with Chocolate Fortress.

Dan: "Hey babe. Wanna go out?"
Donna: "Sure, honey"
Dan: "Chocolate Fortress!"
