Hey guys, I'm hoping to get a 360 in the coming weeks{finally}. But I do have some questions:

1. I know Silver Membership for XBLA is free, but does the 360 come with a free trail for Gold?
2. Speaking of XBLA, the 360 has a ethernet port, right? I'd rather not pay $100 for the wireless adapter.
3. Since money is tight, I'm thinking of just getting the Arcade{yes, I know Elite is better} and using some Ebay money to buy a hard drive. But is the Arcade more likely to get the RROD than the Elite?

1. Yes, you get a free month out of the box
2. Yes
3. No, I think all models have the same chance of PROD

1) Yes. A month trial. Some of the games also come with a free month.
2) The Wireless Adapter is completely optional. If you have a free slot on your router, just get a long enough ethernet cable and it works fine.
3) I'm not sure. I think they all could possibly get it. As for which one to get, if the store has a Pro available, snag that. As of August '08, they came with a 60G hard drive.

Thanks guys. Got my 360 tonight:awesome: Only thing is, is the system supposed to be so darn loud?

Unless you install the game to the hard drive, yes. However, I do recall the motherboard fan in my old man's Presario to be louder.

Thought so. Still a awasome system though:awesome: I rented Batman Arkham Asylum and I think I'm liking the 360 controller better than the PS3's{coming from a Sony fanboy, lol}.

Yeah, I love the 360 controller. If you want a free month of Gold let me know.

What games you would reccomend? Will I like Mass Effect if I liked Knights of the Old Republic?

I'd think you would. They play pretty similarly

Yes. Always yes to Mass Effect.

Also Dragon Age. (Although you should really play that one on the PC if you're able. If not, 360 is fine.)

How much HDD space do you have? Id suggest installing all your games to your HDD, if you dont have the space to install multiple games, then id install one or two of the primary games you are playing. The system runs silent, some games the load times are cut down and it's less of a burden on your system.

I recommend Fallout 3 if you like action/rpgs.

Also Red Dead Redemption if you like the GTA games. It's basically GTA set in the old West.

If you like shooting/multi-player games id recommend Halo 3, Call of Duty 4-5-6, Gears of War 1-2

I guess I should say a belated thanks for the suggestions, guys. But I need some advice. I go to turn on my 360 the other day and...no power. It turns on for a quick sec, turns off, and the light on the power brick goes red. Do I just need a new power supply or could it be the console itself? I read it could be the USB ports, but I don't even use those.

Sadly, it's already out of warrenty, so no luck there:csad:

Thanks man. Luckily, it was exactly what I thought it was.
