Simple question. Have you ever gotten fired and if so for what? :yay:

Only once. This was back in 2001. I was being a wise ass to my boss in front of other people because he was questioning me about some time off. I had taken off the previous Friday to go to a U2 concert. He approved it and told me I could have the day off. I don't remember what excuse I used, but I know I lied to him about WHY I needed the day off. The following Monday he questioned me about it in front of everyone. I told him it was none of his business what I did on my days off, just as what he did on his days off were none of mine. There was some strained laughter, and he called me into his office later and I used the same argument. I got a call the next morning at about 7am and was told "Not to report to work." :whatever:

I came close to it a few summers back, when I gave two weeks notice and two (INCREDIBLY immature) bosses of mine lashed out by giving me really **** shifts, and I had to take a re-certification class like the day before my final shift. I tried getting out of it, but you could only do so at the beginning of each month, and I was unable to. I seriously contemplated telling them to **** off, but decided it wasn't worth addressing in the future when asked why I got laid off. Probably one of the crappiest jobs I ever had, and also the most money I made ironically enough.

Fortunately, this has never happened to me.

I almost got fired, but just ended up getting a write up from HR. A coworker and I were cracking jokes and took it too far, apparently someone got offended and cried to the main manager. People need to lighten up a bit, the jokes weren't even that bad.

I'm just trying to get hired right now.

No, but I have done some firing and will have to do it again very soon.

Yeah, I did back in 2006. I was working for SPSS, and after about a year was let go, due to "average performance."

Back in the early 90's I worked for RPS which is now FedEx ground. I was only there two weeks and given three of the busiest trucks to load by myself. I was supposed to check every package that came down the chute to make sure it was going to the right hub. I would get behind and if the chute got backed up you got yelled at. So, I would check maybe every 10 or so packages. The VP of our distribution center came into my truck and started grabbing packages and questioning me about it. I was tired and getting frustrated running between three trucks with no help so I got cocky with him and he fired me on the spot. I was young and stupid.
The best was when I was walking out and he told me to not even think about using RPS as a reference and I shot back like I would ever consider using a third rate UPS as a reference. I never did get the last three hours that was owed to me.

I've been fire/quit at the same time. Had a row about wages (wasn't getting what i was owed) in the end my boss told me to **** off, at the same time i told him to poke his job where the sun don't shine.

It was a mutal thing.

got fired for having a random muscle spasm in my right arm. Yep.

My buddy adam parked in the boss's parking space and when the boss told him to move he responded with a F you.

that was a hell of a way to go out if you ask me.

Got fired from a McDonald's after working 4 years there, and it was mostly because of my attitude toward customers, my manager previously would let it slide but one day I grabbed a metal pole and bashed it against the wall because I was getting less work hours and so the manager had finally had it and gave me my termination notice.

A second time I got fired I was an operations manager at a bank and again I was rude to a customer and so a couple days later I got my walking papers.

I got fired ten years ago from a summer job at a warehouse. It was for a book publishing company and we had the job of folding sheets of cardboard into boxes to ship the books. The other people said I wasnt doing my share of work and they complained.

Maybe they were right, I dont know. I was having a depressive episode that whole summer.

I was recently fired from Applebee's after putting a server in a chokehold. Now I'm just playing the waiting game to see if I get charges pressed against me.

Only once when I was working part time at a department store in 94ish. It was during the holidays and there was an open tin of wrapped candies in the front by the registers. A cashier who was on her way to throw them in the trash (we can't sell them since they were opened) offered me a piece before she threw it away. I took one and put in my pocket for later. The next day we were both let go for "stealing".

I've gotten fired 3 times.

1st time as a night clerk because I apparently caused my coworker to quit on the spot, boss had to pick up on his shift, had prior warnings.
2nd time I was a supervisor at a market research company my tomfoolery got me canned.
3rd time I was working the line in a place called Earl's talked back to the sous-chef, they plotted against me, fired me first at my first slip up.

Now I've been unemployed for a bit, hard to get a job without proper references. Everyone's a troll. Got my college degree should go and finish my university one cause this ain't working.

I haven't been fired from a job yet, but my sister has been fired from every job she's had. She has this problem where she refuses to listen to anyone else's point of view, and thinks she knows everything. Needless to say; she's not going to be able to keep any job until she changes her attitude.
