Didn't see a thread on this.

The seven part series based on David McCullough's Pulitzer Prize-winning book.

I managed to catch all seven parts and I thought it was really excellent and well made. A very high production value with a superb cast. Paul Giamatti is one of my favorite actors, and the rest of the cast is rounded out rather nicely along with Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson, and others.
I really didn't know too much about Adams beforehand, and I haven't read the book it's based on to speak to it's accuracy, but if you have any interest in the period and subject matter, it's a must see imo. I think the DVD's are out now or imminently.

Anyway, I'd like to know what anyone else thought of it.

I might get this on dvd. I heard a lot of good things about this miniseries.

Downloaded and watched the first 3 episodes. Even as a fan of Giamatti, when I first heard of it I was doubtful whether HBO would be able to make this an interesting miniseries.

I should have known that the producers of Rome and Carnivale wouldn't let me down. It's good stuff. :o

I caught a "making of" special, which was really cool as well. They did an excellent job utilizing CGI to flesh out the environments. Top notch stuff.
