In everyone's opinion, what do people think is Arnie's BEST acing performance, not film but performance. In my view, whilst never being a true thespian, he has improved his range and choice of roles over the years.

My choice would be that from End of Days were he takes on a 'different' kind of role and depth to who he is and what he faces.

I remember, much of this was highlighted in what was regarded and a 'comeback' in 1999.

I'd say he delivers quite well in True Lies and 6th Day, those feel like he has relatively well-rounded performances.

The original Terminator. He didn't get many lines, but man...his body language and presence in that film were something else and he had fantastic delivery with that robotic monotone voice in the dialogue he did get.

He sold that film with his terminator performance. Has one performance ever so many doors than that one ?

It is hard to even imagine what that movie would have looked like if James Cameron's original vision of Arnold playing Reese and Lance Henriksen playing the Terminator took place.

I also think that movie is Michael Biehn's best performance, BTW.

Terminator is his most unique performance and my favorite.

Funny thing, I always thought it was Arnold who didn't want to play a bad guy ever again and thus they made T2 with a good terminator. Turns out it was Cameron's idea.

I am still waiting for King Conan. That's one of his most underrated roles and of his franchises. I want that complete trilogy.

Predator for me hands down. I attribute that to working against someone like Carl Weathers who is not only a much better actor, but someone who commanded almost as much screen presence as Arnold. Having someone that can almost match his stature physically only brought out the best in Arnold. He's also asked to carry the entire third act by himself, and does a great job with it.

T2 and True Lies are right there though. Cameron just gets Arnold, and knows how to write for him. He has excellent comedic timing in True Lies. And if you want to see the importance of Cameron when directing Arnold in Terminator, just listen to his line delivery in T2 compared to T3. In T3 it's just hollow and boring.

He was very good in Maggie. To me that is one of his best performances.

I think he is really good in the comedic roles, like in Kindergarten Cop and The Last Action Hero, which are really good movies, too.

His later roles in Maggie and Aftermath do make pretty okay actor. I wish he would do more action roles like Liam Neeson. His hulking figure would suit old man action movies well.

True Lies, hands down!

He is great and funny in it! It's the only performance he got, that has TONS of charm.

Yeah I really loved him in True Lies. One of my favorite 90's movies, too.

Terminator 2, End of Days, True Lies, and Kindergarten Cop just to name a few. I've heard excellent things about Maggie and Aftermath though. I think it's interesting that while they're known for their action roles. People like Arnold, Jean Claude Van Damme, and Stallone got better in age and proved they could be excellent dramatic actors too.

Stallone is massively underrated.

Stallone is massively underrated.

I feel the same. He got robbed out of an Oscar for his acting in :

Arnie's best acting was in MAGGIE.
