I'm watching the one that came out today, and it is so cool, I've only seen 5 minutes so far.

It seems so wierd, cool, and unheard of that the live action cast is doing the cartoon movie!

Could you imagine the cast of the Spider-man movies doing a Spidey animated movie.

Really cool.

Did you get the free stuff with yours? (the exclusive comic and seed of destruction gn)

I could see that as the worst animated movie ever. But Hellboys cast is great though yay.

I watched it...it was good. I'd watch a TVseries of that. Hope that second chapter is coming soon. The game preview was meh, I hope they put out a decent product is all.
The comic con panel was interesting...They spoke of Hellboy 2 like its already finished...and then I thought maybe they're not being clear and that they're actually referring to Hellboy Animated part 2. So...I don't know if anyone else caught that or not.

I wouldn't want a TV series because that would diminish the quality IMO, I'm hoping for a movie series. The Hellboy game looks good hopefully it is half decent compared to stuff like Aquaman or Batman Dark Tomorrow or even the 1998 Hellboy game.:(

I hope they do a Lobster Johnson story in animated form.

Well, after watching it I didn't think it was as good as I thought it would be.

The animation looked like that crap from The Batman, which is an insult to Batman.

I'm tired of every cartoon having some jap type anime story, like this one with the sword thing.

Hopefully they'll do something DIFFERENT next time. All in all, bad art, boring story.

Can't wait to see the next live action movie.

The story was just based off a legend, that's what most of the Hellboy stories are based off of. It wasn't trying to be neo-anime garbage it was using a story Mignola liked. I thought the animation was a little better it resembled Mignola's art without so much shadows.

To be clear, they weren't trying to Japanese animation style when they created the movies. The first story just happens to center around Japan.

Blood and Iron will be aired on Cartoon Network March 10th. Here's the write up:
In 1939, young Professor Broom destroyed Erzsebet Ondrushko, a female vampire who bathed in the blood of innocents to stay young. Now someone in upstate New York is trying to bring her back, and the elderly Professor Broom has decided to investigate it himself. He takes the top BPRD agents, Hellboy, Liz Sherman and Abe Sapien, who are more worried about his welfare than the return of any vampire. Their tune changes when they face a horde of ghosts, a phantom wolf pack, witches, harpies, a giant werewolf and Erzsebet herself. Hellboy ends up battling the Queen of Witches, the goddess Hecate, who wants him to embrace his true destiny, a destiny that includes the destruction of mankind.
I believe they were originally trying for a TV series when they first came up with the idea of an animated Hellboy, but things changed and it turned into a couple of movies. If the Sword of Storms DVD sells well, chances are there will be a third Hellboy animated movie.

hmmm, i don't want to sound like an idiot, but are these animated movies based at all, or have anything to do with the live action film? or are they totally seperate?
and have they been released on dvd yet cause i couldn't find anything about them at one of my local music/ dvd stores.

First animated movie DVD is out and in stores. Might not be out in the rest of the world, but it's out in the US.

The second movie is finished and handed in to Cartoon Network. It airs in March, as previously stated.

The script is being written for the third movie, but that has not been greenlit to be made yet. Hopefully the DVD will sell well. That will be the biggest factor.

SOS is out on DVD in the U.K today, honestly people, is it worth buying? I never had the chance to see it on T.V.

I enjoyed it, I hear the extras are absolutely fabulous, but if you're not sure, rent it and see for yourself.

Some updated news:

Blood and Iron will air on Cartoon Network on March 17th, the DVD will be released June 12th and a third Hellboy Animated movie is now in the works called The Phantom Claw with Lobster Johnson. Unfortunately, there won't be any Abe or Liz in the last movie, but who knows, if these continue to do well, we may get more of them. Of course that's just my speculation, not anything official.:D

March 17th!? I'll miss it.

Next feature: the Phantom Claw! Guest starring: Lobster Johnson! Yippeeee!

Hellboy animated move was so cool. But i can say they Dragon Booster show is cool.

Well I just watched it. It was good and well-written and everything... but it's sooooo slooooow, even at only 90 minutes. There's very little action, and when it happens it's not nearly as cool as the stuff in Sword of Storms - the animation looks kinda stiff and jerky this time, for some reason. But the writing was there and I can't gripe too much. It just wasn't as good as SoS was.

And how come everybody called Bruttenholm "Broom" even in the FLASHBACKS? I mean, at least show the people he works with in the '40s giving him a little more respect, it's okay in the modern day but damn.

Loved the little teaser at the end of the credits for "Shadow of the Claw" though. Except... I thought he said it was called "The Phantom Claw"? I guess they changed the title after making that teaser.

I believe Bruttenholm is pronounced Broom, but I could be wrong.

Yes, indeed it is. It is like the name St John being pronounced 'Sin-jen' or Cholmondley being pronounced 'Chumley'. It's a British thing. ;)

I thought B&I was a lot closer to the feel of the comics than SoS. Very dark and I'm very impressed that Cartoon Network showed that much blood at 7:00 at night. I'm looking forward to Phantom Claw.
