That reviewer is a jack ass but more often than not I agree with his reviews.

I hate Devin, but it's nice to see him be so positive about a Superhero film. He usually dissed them because he hates them.

Devin is *****esque...there is a certain arrogance he has in all of his negative pieces. It's funny that when he writes a postive review (few that there are) that that seems to disappear.

I am happy people are enjoying the movie...and I am now excited for it far more than I was. I just thought the first one was fun but not that rewatchable. This one looks fun.

According to an article posted last Friday HERE, Nick Nunziata will post a second HB2 review at CHUD.com this weekend. So keep an eye out Saturday and Sunday for another CHUD staffer's take on the film.

Also, just to clarify for those who have not read Devin's piece, it's very positive. The above posters are saying Devin's history tends to be hard on films, but he clearly liked HB2. He has nothing but good things to say, and that makes me even more excited.

Here's the unofficial Empire review by Chris Hewitt, the man Empire sent to cover the film on-set. That's why it's unofficial -- because he was close to the film's production, so some may think he's biased. Still, this is a very even-handed review and it makes me all the more excited! This movie sounds in-cred-ible.

All these reviews are amazing, i knew HBII would be good, but this is looking/sounding like a masterpiece of action/fantasy cinema, let alone a superb comic book movie.

Im just so sad that its been positioned against those other films : / though Bats has been starting to get amazing reviews aswell.
Im looking forward to my HB and Bats equally now-and i managed to score a copy of the 200 limited release darkness calls with extra content and signed drawing : D

I'm not much of a hellboy fan but, this movie sounds like it will be great. All it really needs to do is make around 45 to 50 million that first weekend on a budget of 72-75million for us to get a sequel. Journey to the center of the earth is released during the same weekend and that will most likely bomb. Hellboy 2 should make at least 100million domestically. Good word of mouth could turn it into a big hit.


I would like to know why Rupert Evans isn't in this movie since he was one of the lead characters in the last one. I hope there's an explanation for his omission.

well i think he is stationed somewhere else, as his job really was just to look afterhim till he matured. There a line in the Film that explains where he is.

It has a 100% fresh at rotten tomatoes (which is phenomenal...even though there are only 7 reviews, it'll most likely stay in the 90s)

This is good.
Now, I'm sure I'll watch it.
I LOVED the first, it was a pleasant surprise but the trailers for the 2nd didn't really seem good but now that people seem to like it Im pretty sure Ill see it. Again the first was awesome and its from the guy that gave us Pan's Labrynith
