Now I know there are quite a few fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Superhero Hype and I looked around noticed there wasn't any threads for the show itself and I was kind of like "whoa bro, this is blowing my mind". Anyways, I thought a thread would be great to start were everyone can discuss the show, the cast, the movies and even the rifftrax website that they created not too long ago.

There are two hosts for the show, and it's something that splits fans of the show down the middle.

Joel:

and Mike Nelson:

I personally prefer Mike over Joel, Joel always came off as a bore and always seemed so sleepy in every episode. Mike's actually quite the opposite and probably has some of the funniest jokes out of Joel, Crow, and Servo. Now what I never understood was why Mike replaced Joel, Joel is the creator of MST3K, right? I really wish they didn't switch out Dr. Forrester for Pearl, she was no where near as funny as Forrester.

God I loved this show, esp Space Mutiny

''wall mounted keyboards, it must be the future''

:lmao:

Man I loved this show. I always would watch durng Thanksgivng for thier Thanksgving Marathon. I've been collecting the DVDs since they been coming out.

It was a great great show.

ROWSDOWER!

Joel was arguing over what direction the show should go with Jim Mallon and he also never felt real comfortable in front of the camera; andBeaulieu left on his own terms.

I preferred Mike over Joel. I do agree Joel's uncomfortableness in front of the camera showed through.

I'm also in the minority, but I prefered Pearl over Forrester too.

I don't know the name of the guy that was before TVs Frank, but I'm super glad he was replaced by him.

I preferred Mike, and the intermission skits were never as memorable as the movies and riffs themselves.

I was talking about Forrester's side kick before TV's Frank.

Well, I still didn't like him. But I loved Freaks and Geeks. :o

I found out not too long ago that Netflix has a bunch of MST3K movies up for stream, but Joel and Mike episodes.. I just watched "Blood Waters of Dr. Z", probably one of the best episodes I've ever seen.

I definitely preferred Mike, but Joel wasn't a turnoff. As long as there were robots, quips and bad movies, it was still "MST3K" to me, and therefore delightful.
