I want to buy a HDTV.
I´m eyeing the Samsung LE40A656.
My question here is, who has the 360, PS3, Wii, PS2....connected to a HDTV, and how well does it handle it?
I ask this because i keep hearing about input lag, which is a big no in my book.
When i press the trigger in a gamepad, i want to character to shoot, not shoot 30ms later.
I also keep hearing that a console plays better connected by component then HDMI, which, imo, doesn´t make sense...or does it?

So, what´s you HDTV and how well it handle the diferent resolutions of the diferent consoles vs lag input?

PS - And before anyone asks, i have my 360 connected to the PC monitor, which, of course, doesn´t have any problem.

I have a Samsung HDTV with my PS3, PS2 and occasionally a Wii/Gamecube in there. I have never experienced any lag. Samsungs rock. You will be very happy with your choice. There is absolutely no difference as far as gameplay goes connecting to the different cables. If any, its very minor and not noticeable. That part doesnt make sense to me either

I have a Sony Bravia LCD HDTV hooked up to my 360 and my wii. The 360 and wii are through component cables and look/run very nice. My HD DVD player is through an HDMI cable and also runs perfectly.

I have never noticed any lag at any of the resolutions I've played at.

If you're getting a decent newer HDTV, I doubt you'll have any connection problems.

I HAVE A SONY 50" LCD HDTV CONNECTED THROUGH A SONY 900WATT 7.1 HOME THEATER A/V RECEIVER TO MY PS3 USING AN HDMI CABLE AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH LAG!!!:o:D:up: THE ONLY LAG I GET IS WHEN I TRY TO MAKE A POST ON THESE BOARDS!!!:o:oldrazz::D

I have a Sony 40'' Bravia and have no problems with my Wii with component cables and PS3 with an HDMI cable.

Sony Bravia's ftw! :word:

Absolutely, I to have a 40" Bravia "X" Series at full 1080p with a Sony Muteki 7.1 Home Theater. I am yet to get a Blu-ray player to see just how good it is but the HD drive bought for my 360 looks great on it, movies like 300, Transformers, and the Harry Potters look amazing and crisp.

I have a 61" RCA HDTV and I have it hooked up to my 360 and sometimes a gamecube, playing mass effect and other games with high graphics play great on it

Id also take a look at the Hitachi's. They're generally cheaper(at least they were at one point) than the Sony's yet they're almost the same thing(Hitachi makes up the Sony's). My father has a 50ish" in his room and a 47" in the living room and those TV's are absolutely amazing. I put my PS3 on the 50ish to play MGS4 and now i cant play my PS3 on any other TV as iv been too spoiled by it. No problems whatsoever and i was using the HDMI cables.

Thanks for the replys.
Glad to hear no one have experience any lags

The only lag iv experienced was with Guitar Hero, but that was solved due to a quick calibration on the TV.

you shouldnt worry about lag. Thats really an issue with earlier HDTVs from years ago and pretty much a non-issue now

Just bought a HDTV, its not the biggest, but it has a kick ass image, a Sony32w4000.
1080p, 3 HDMI 1.3........:applaud

I too am a proud Bravia owner (KDL-324000) and I have my 360 hooked to the HDMI and the old xbox and PS2 hooked up via component cables as well and ditto with no lag having that many devices hooked up to it :woot:.
