I just got a new entertainment center and I found two old speakers lying around the house. I always thought that they didn't work--I noticed that the ends look damaged and cut.

I tried plugging in one into one of my receivers and I got nothing. I was wondering if anyone could deduce whether or not I could somehow save these speakers and see if they can somehow work!

Sorry for the lousy pics. I can take better ones later if desired.

Did you stick both wires coming from each speaker into your reciever, did you try to play sound through the speakers? Do you have a stereo that you can hook the speaker wires into to see if the speakers work that way? If they worked then you could always add extra speaker wire length to each of them. Is there an easy way that you could take the speakers apart & see if the wires on the inside had come unsoldered?
