No prob :) I wasn't trying to sound pedantic lol

Oh no, excuse me. I wasn't thinking you were. Sorry if I came across that way :)

Likewise.

There's still a big question mark over the suit - does it incorporate technology of some kind, or is it literally just a piece of clothing and nothing more? Some people think the scene below (where Superman's just been blasted by Zod's crew) show that the suit has some kind of nano-tech or self-repairing technology, whereas others think that the energy swirl around his chest is just residual energy from the blast itself.

If the suit did have some kind of nano-tech, it would certainly make it much easier to explain how it could easily become black (e.g. if it detects he is lifeless) or form itself around him despite the fact we saw him buried in civilian clothes.

I've always thought a nano-tech suit was a great modern answer to the question of how Superman keeps the bulky suit, boots and cape well hidden under his Clark Kent clothing - and especially believable in Snyder's DCEU, given that we've already seen that his take on Kryptonian tech includes nano-technology in the form of their 3D visualisations, kryptonian keys which seemingly form out of thin air, and so on.

Surely an advanced civilisation would see the benefits of 1 piece of nano-tech which can become any kind of clothing you want, rather than 100 different styles hanging in a wardrobe.

Yeah Kryptonian nano tech would be the way to go IMO.

If they go with the Kryptonian nano suit thing, I'd more than welcome with open arms the shirt rip; also, it'd give Superman something "cool" that other modern heroes have but he doesn't (according to some people), as in "Superman has a cool nano suit" type of thing.

And it wouldn't require further retroactive explanation other than "it was always like that, we just never got into it".

I'm still wondering on how Clark was even able to make any modifications to his suit considering that his access to krypotnian technology was cut off when he sacrificed the scout ship to stop Zod.

I'm hoping that if we ever get a MOS sequel, that we will see Superman getting some new place to serve as his fortress of solitude.

Totally agree. To me, the FOS is as important a part of the whole Superman universe as the Kent farm, Lois, etc. It's like a Kryptonian outpost on Earth, but just for him.

Before BvS came out, I had assumed that Superman would have lifted one of the remaining ships - the one secured by the military and government that Lex eventually creates Doomsday in - and flew it to somewhere in the North Pole to serve as his FOS. It could still happen I guess.

I'm pretty sure they're just your typical movie suit changes without explanation. They wanted to tweak the costume so they did. Maybe if it's revealed it is nano that sort of provides an explanation because you can simply say he can manipulate it.

I definitely want a Fortress, maybe at the end of JL he'll take the ship away or maybe he'll create one in a cave in the arctic like he did in STAS or maybe something will happen involving his resurrection which involves there been a fortress created to bring him back.

The Scout Ship is contaminated and is anything but a Fortress of Solitude now. I do like the parallel to from Man of Steel to Morrison's run in the New52, though. In Morrison's run, Superman basically used a part of Brainiac's (The Collector's) ship as the Fortress before moving on to more of a traditional; icy Fortress

That's the plane Cavill will fly in on after the supposed new Justice League trailer shows at Comic Con. The ceiling will open, the crowd will part and awkwardly move their seats to the side, and Cavill will descend.

I know we are past the JW theme, but if it was ever needed, even just a snippet, it will be when Supes returns.

****ing Singer and his boring ass film... More than anything else I hold it against that film for poisoning the well on those signifiers from the Donner film.

yup. I remember at the time that's what people thought they wanted, until we got it.

If he has the black suit I hope he keeps it rather than having the traditional suit

Even if they weren't overtly attempting a shared universe at that point, I don't understand the logic of WB going "Okay, well, this one (Batman) let's ignore everything that came before and start completely fresh. Younger version, fully explored origin story, etc. But this one (Supes).... let's blatantly follow up on a group of films from a quarter decade ago."

So those Hot Toys figures; is the "S" bene enlarged back to MOS size?

Doesn't look quite the same ratio. Looks wider than the bvs one though.

You know, one thing that I'm really curious about is that if Warner Bros are really waiting for how Superman is received by fans and the general audiences upon his return in this film, does that mean that Superman's film franchise might be in trouble IF his reception is either lukewarm or similar from the last two films? Or would they push on to get a solo superman film made, regardless of his reception?

Never mind the myriad of other inconsistencies.

Acknowledges events of Superman 1 & 2, but ignore Superman 3 & 4.
Lois has a child and suspects Superman is the Dad, which ignores the amnesia kiss
Characters are meant to be the same as Superman 1&2, but their characteristics are notably different
Superman in Superman 1 can barely stand with a small Kryptonite chain round his neck, this one can lift a piece of land covered in the stuff (and yes, I know he recharged in the sun first)
etc

They were pretty open about the whole "a bunch of the background is the same, some is different" thing the whole way through. Hence the term "vague sequel".
