Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - Part 11

I wonder if Superman is going to have more lines and be able to respond to people rather than standing there being talked at. Unlike, in the past films.

Probably not.

My theory is that this is how it goes down...

1. Superman gets revived.

2. Superman is not up to full strength or maybe when he is revived, he isn't able to collect his thoughts and is very confused, thus leaves the scene and the league off on their own. He probably then reconnects with Lois/Martha, has a conversation with them, and then finds himself again.

3. Superman meets with Alfred now fully suited up and finds out from him where the team is at.

4. The team is about to get killed or lose and Superman shows up in the end, helps them defeat Stepp and that's it.

So yeah, IF it does go down like that...it will definitely be JL with Superman. I don't see Superman really interacting with the group at all other than perhaps working with them in CGI battle sequences like he did with WW in BvS.

I have a feeling in the trailer when Aquaman says "ALRIGHT" that's when Superman comes into the main fight.

That's a good shout, yeah, it's a little difficult to tell the sequence of stuff but at that stage it looks like the Parademons have seemingly carted off all the humans and it's just full on armageddon, would make sense that Supes is the haymaker that comes and swings it in the league's favor.

I also have concerns that Superman won't show up until the third act and this trailer seems to be heading in that direction.

How much Superman is in the film is what concerns me.

I also hope that scene with Alfred is not a post-credit scene and I don't Superman reduced to that.

Even with my issues with the film, I don't think that Superman's scene with Alfred is in the Post Credits.

And yeah, I am very concerned about his screen time but it seems to be the general consensus around here that as long as Superman looks good doing what he does, that they are fine with however short his on-screen presence may actually end up being.

I had hoped that Superman would meet the league by the middle or near the end of the third act.

If anything, I was hoping that we would at least get a "AOU with Vision" scenario going on here where Superman is revived before the start of the third act and joins the group at the start of the final battle, allowing him to interact with them throughout the long final battle. But it doesn't seem like it'll be the case. It seems like he'll just show up like WW did in BvS.

I think that shot actually takes place during this scene.

And based on their appearance, it looks like it's a part of the battle that takes place in the sewers upon the team's first encounter with the Parademons, so I don't think AQ is seeing Superman at all in that shot.

Hell yeah! I can't wait to see Superman knock Steppenwolf's teeth down his throat :woot:

The trailer has left me with concerned instead of being excited.

I wonder at what point in the film does Superman meet Lois again.

Of course not, because Superman doesn't actually exist in this universe, so there's nothing for Aquaman to look at. What was I thinking?

It's probably going to be a pretty crazy fight. A part of me thinks there's a lot we're not seeing right now, too. I'm keen for this to happen, November needs to happen already.

Great trailer but let down without Supes!!!

Yup looks like Supes will pull a Luke Skywalker in The Force Awakens!!

Yeah, that's the likely scenario. I'm feeling pretty meh about this now. All we can do is wait and see. Hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.

Man, I miss those heady pre-BVS premiere days.

he's likely in the movie alot more than that. Like the story arc his death was inspired by, a good opportunity to get his character down and or rest, at least in motivations. Meet a few friends even, say some final good byes.

I doubt that will please people that judge this film based on how much their favorite character leads in it, but that would work for me. I also think really showing how much the world misses him and was inspired by him and is in crap without him does the character well. All that stuff people harped had been missing, but what do i know.

No it doesn't, Skywalker was in the final few seconds of TFA, Superman will clearly be in more of JL than that.

Very happy to see WB not give in and show key references to Superman without going into full detail. Very stoked about Gal's words about how Superman fans will be very happy with JL. Love it!

This. I don't understand how people are disspaointed with what we got. Majority of the trailer was about Superman plus the stinger at the end with the tag "ALL IN". I don't know why you'd want more than that, unless you want to be spoiled.

Don't be too sure about that cause at least Luke was in The Force Awakens trailer. Lol

Superman may show up in the last trailer, but I am on the side of the pessimist that he won't be in the movie much.

Oh, it's clearly understandable. In fact, the username's I recognize that are either having fits or crapping on things is as predictable as it comes. If we would have bet on polls and squares like they do sporting events, I'd be rich. The reaction is how I expected it to go. I saw one dude say the scale is "too big." Like, WTF?! This is JL. It's the DCEU. It's supposed to be. What people want must be unrealistic shenanigans. The trailer was action packed, showed good story and even threw in the tonal humor everyone was gung-ho about. In other words: just another day in SHH paradise lol.

Yes, clearly he'll only have one minute of screentime wearing a hoodie, turning around, and removing it in front of the rest of the League before the movie cuts to black.

Good god, you people don't stop with the hyperbole. Here I thought herolee's complaining was bad enough.

It's been the same exact thing since the first trailer/Snyder's first interview after BvS when explaining how the Leaguer's are going to have to unite after JL. It's been forever with the same 'ol moans like the realization is something new. They aren't showing everything. Best to see how it all turns out like how a normal film should be judged.

I like it that WB stuck to their guns. There's NO NEED to ruin special moments to what the film intends to do just to appease fans. They did that in BvS's reveal of Wondy/Trinity/Doomsday and it hurt them. They've learned.

I really can't comprehend it. Heck, Superman was the main focus in this trailer even though he mostly wasn't physically present. Heck, he was literally teased in that last scene with Alfred.

Just because they're keeping him out of the limelight, doesn't mean 'oh, he's got like five minutes of screentime. FAIL. 0/10'.

The amount of Superman today was  but it will never not blow my mind that the marketing and trailer of a JUSTICE LEAGUE film is not featuring any appearance, dialogue, or action from the Man of Steel himself.

I'll be waiting for JL2, or is is it JL 1.5: Flashpoint now?:cwink:

It's certainly jarring, but WB has stuck to this route so far, so it's not surprising that we don't see or hear from Supes. It's been effective marketing for some people, others not so much obviously. Either way, I'm in the camp that thinks this is the last we see of Supes for a very long time while the Bat Family sets up shop in the DCEU. Was nice while it lasted.

That's dramatic. We're going to see Superman as soon as Shazam! hits (IMO) which is one of the next DCEU films to go into production. The director already came out and said that "In this movie, Billy looks up and wants to be Superman. What kid doesn't? So in this movie, he becomes him." So, I expect Superman to show up and be somewhat of a mentor to Billy. Its's also been confirmed that Black Adam won't be in Shazam! while the Rock has teased a showdown with Black Adam and Superman so Supes is definitely going to be that bridge to connect the two.

^ probably going to play out like homecoming that one.

supes is going to be all over shazam imo.
And all of this before MOS2. It's interesting how very much like cap this all is given how much we saw of him before the winter soldier really set him as the guy in the mcu(imo).

That being said, I'm seeing alot of non superman stuff in the pipeline, only two batman things, i don't count suicide squad personally given that is a team of everyone's villains like it was on the CW. Gone are the days where it's only Batman and Superman for WB(tv and all). flash, shazam, aquaman, wonderwoman...etc. It's a brave new world, and with that the bizarro effect of now missing superman(and batman according to some) solos.

I will say that from a marketing point of view, they could have shown superman footage from prior films, digetic flashbacks or not. No harm in having that guy in the footage of the trailer imo.
