Just as looks go, he's got it. Also, the way he speaks. I can hear him. Fingers crossed he can come up with the final product (can't wait to get the first official pic of him :-D

I never saw what Snyder posted so I cant comment if i was offended or not. But I've always loved Cavill for the role since I watched him for the first time on Tudors. I just knew he had IT. I love that he was chosen and I still cant believe that! Its too good to be true to me. But I like even more that other posters here love him too and Im glad a lot of people changed their minds and now we all seem to support him.

The Cavill thread has been a love fest, a break from other threads around here. lol

I don't think that there is anything wrong with what Jax said. He didn't say that Cavill wouldn't be good or that he was against him getting the role, he just said he thought he looked a little darker than how he views Superman.

I can honestly see why some people have said that in a lot of ways, Henry's face presents that larger than life persona that only Christopher Reeve was able to emulate prior to Henry's casting.

Yeah and these photos were the ones that really put me on his team. I was happy when he was first cast but after these red carpet pics I was just as convinced as if I saw him in the suit already. I never had that feeling before with others after Reeve. They just have to get that suit right for this guy.

I think the only reason why I wasn't totally on board when he was announced to play the role was because all I kept seeing of him was pictures of him with a beard on, or pictures of him from Tudors, so it was really hard to picture him back then on how he'd look and I didn't think at the time that he could present the warm and geniune smile that Superman was capable of doing until I saw later pics.

Absolutely. I like his voice (better than Reeve or any other), his sense of humor and how he is as person in interviews but how he performs is a whole separate matter. I enjoy his acting and think he'll do well but only seeing his Superman on screen will we really know.

Well for me I knew him from The Count of Monte Cristo and he flashed that smile every scene! It hasn't changed one bit. lol

I don't understand why some people are allowed to go around giving smart-ass snarky responses to some people's opinions like they mean nothing and it's okay, if other people do that, it's totally wrong of them.

No, no favoritism. It's just because most people here don't curse at other posters. Those that do it repeatedly usually get banned, and they are usually new.
No one is saying you can't have an opinion, just try to do it without cursing at folks.
