BvS Henry Cavill IS Superman - Part 8

I just want to see Rebuilding Great Wall Vision again. Is that too much to ask?
When I first saw that scene, I thought "this is a Silver Surfer ability, not Superman's"
Definitely not an eyebeam

I was just thinking, if this movie does take place 2 years after MoS, would you like him to have his Super Breath? I'd love to see it if theirs a fire or tornado.
I'd like to see Super Breath, but also Artict breath it has scientific explanation too (our lungs can exhale cool air depends on how you do it) It's not crazy to think that Superman can take big quantities of air (with his powerful muscles) and then exhale them and he mayhbe controlling the temperature as we do but on a bigger scale. They need to think of a good way to present one of both breaths to the big screen.

Heat vision is eyes emitting light. Eyes don't do that, it's actually the opposite of what they do.

Kryptonians could theoretically have some sort of valve in their lungs, and with powerful intercostal muscles, Superman could exhale a great quantity of air.
definitely Superman!

SUPERMAN!!! nice shot!!!
Human eyes don't.

Superman's eyes obviously exhibit the ability to emit x-ray radiation, hence why he can see through things. I assume that there are subtle internal differences in his Kryptonian physique (despite his outwardly identical appearance to a human) which allow him to use the reserves of solar energy in his body to project this radiation.

I see his heat vision as a natural progression of x-ray vision - a much, much stronger and more focused burst of intense radiation, which is more akin to a laser beam than the much less dangerous x-rays.

Of course, we are still taking about a comic character so there has to be some suspension of disbelief and artistic 'liberty' concerning certain scientific facts. I do think however that the majority of his powers (x-rays and heat vision included) work believably well within the realms of the MOS reality/universe.
No eyes do. It's counterproductive to vision to evolve eyes that emit light. It makes you blind.

Superman's eyes absorb x-rays. Not emit them.

Light bulbs emit light, your eyes absorb the light.

emitting light is still the opposite of what eyes do. Also, infared, is less intense than x-rays.

I was responding to the idea that super breath would increase the fantastical nature of the world. Which it doesn't. X-ray vision straddles the line itself, it's fine to absorb x-rays, but they're not that common, so he wouldn't really see anything anyway.
Really nice scientific explanations.

Cav-El shows us the proper way to use heat vision...

That reminds me: I'd like to see more casual (and less violent) uses of heat vision in the future. I'm pretty sure it hurts him every time he uses it, so I'm not sure how likely that is.

I didn't seem to hurt him too much as a child. It was also no where near girder melting level in that scene. Using heat vision for pinpoint stuff would seem reasonable to me.

I think in the scout ship scene he used it for a prolonged period to melt the ice, so it might have given him some eye strain (hey, you try not to blink for some time! LOL) But in short bursts of use, I think he's fine.

That barely counts.

Indeed.

I think it count in that it was a casual use of his Heat Vision as you were asking for and it was low intensity and didn't seem to hurt him. I'd guess the level he used to cauterize Lois' wound on the ship was also not enough to cause the physical reaction seen in other parts of the film when he used it. I'd be fine if when he really turns the juice on it's somewhat painful but other times we see that the power he puts into it if small enough doesn't cause a noticeable reaction.

I think that's because of the quantity of "energy" he emits.

I wouldn't call hurt. I call maybe bugging him almost pain, but not pain exactly. I sort of loved how they managed, as if he was emitting really fire through his eyes. But I think it depends on how intense he wants to emit the energy. Depends also on which uses they wanted him to do with his power.

Don't forget that he's going to become more and more comfortable with his abilities as time passes. Flying with more grace, and having a more adept way of handling his powers in general, should be expected.

It'd be cool to see him floating above the atmosphere, calibrating his super-hearing to hear calls for help.

It will be cool to see him 2 more years experienced, how he saves people everyday in addition to fighting villians, and things like that. Plus Daily Planet Clark, the Clois relationship. Ahhh so much to be excited for and these are just small things I expect Snyder to include. Snyder is going to have to find a way to include all this while also having it work with the story of introducing all these new characters in the DC universe. I think he can do it though by knocking two birds out with one stone rather than trying to force all these things individually.

Going back to the poster who said that Superman's x-ray vision/heat vision was not scientifically possible. I never got the idea that Superman's x-ray vision actually used x-rays, I just always imagined his eyes were so powerful he could see through the gaps in atomic structures, which would explain why he can see people's flesh rather than just bones and other dense materials.

As for heat vision, I think you could make the argument that he actually can't see anything when he is using it, perhaps evidenced by the fact that we only ever see him shooting it in a straight line or shooting it around wildly.

I think you're right on the X-ray vision.
But I'm not sure about the heat vision thing. Superman and mostly Zod showed that they can see when they used. Superman melting the steel bar.

Yeah but to me it looks like they just sort of point their eyes where they want it to go first and then unleash it. I think you could argue either way to be honest.

True. but for example if he didn't exactly point out the steel bar, the beam could go to elsewhere. I think he can see while using it.

It will be cool. I don't want superman to be at the juggling planets level of power, but I like the idea that he's much stronger than we've seen and just hasn't pushed himself hard enough.

Do you think we'll get smth like this? or similar? Star Labs?

If Bizarro appears in a future Superhero movie, should Henry play him?

I would love it if there's a hide a way in the Arctic that Superman took Krypton tech to and using some of the Gravity beam equipment he's able to train Goku style to "Keep testing his limits".

As for Bizzaro? Nah. get a second actor.
