BvS Henry Cavill IS Superman - Part 9

Just saw the new image. I'm glad it really turned out to be just tweaks since I liked the MOS suit. Like it better than the first publicity shot for MOS.

Once again, the reactions to this prove to me that there is more positive buzz around BvS than trolls like Grace from Beyond the Trailer would have us all believe. Although there are subtle changes to the Superman costume, it's essentially the same suit as we've gotten before... meaning that we're all rejoicing over something we've already seen. And why is that? Because we're really ****ing excited about this movie, and it's going to be HUGE.

She is well known for not being a "good" reviewer and for disliking universally beloved films for very unreasonable reasons. She is the only person in the world that can like Transformers 4 and dislike Pacific Rim for the same reasons.

As far as I can tell, here are the changes:

-Smaller shield/emblem with new S design (similar to the stone S symbol from promos) with the red layer raised above the blue frame

-Gauntlets are now inter-woven with the base suit, not resting on top of it, and are strap like rather than solid

-Side ribbing is broken up into separate lines instead of being cast as one piece with the outer line turning at a sharp angle down towards the "belt"

-Square "buckle" with S

-Waist gold bands are slightly wider and have a sharp/angled edge, rather than coming to a point

-Top of boots are different (not a solid band, but rather two outer lines overlaying boot)

-Neck is slightly curved in between cape attachments rather than being straight across

The empire cover from the first film is a very good comparison given they have the same pose.


- I honestly can't tell for sure about the S. At glance I can see that the S is smaller but when I compare it to the Empire pic the S covers the same areas. It seems more like Cavil is just 1/3 bigger.

- Side ribbing is just new. They've basically done away with that dark blue glossy bands. It seems now the bands are the same shade of blue but glossy.

- The neck I can't tell. It looks identical to the Empire

All in all he looks stockier and less long. Also he looks more like a man in this pic. The old one looks like a young man ready to start his life. This one looks like a dude whose been battle hardened.......like Zod.

Yeah, I knew all that, but even if her primary motivation is to kiss Marvel's ass, I still find most of her statements around DC properties to be trollish.

However, I liked Transformers 4 and disliked Pacific Rim, so...

Yeah, I mean, it's fine if she didn't like MOS, but I love how she uses that to justify baseless generalizations. If she was your only source of information on MOS and BvS, you'd think that 1. MOS was a massive financial disappointment, 2. no one liked it, 3. Warner Brothers has no plan and is just making a half-assed attempt at copying Marvel, and 4. BvS will be a bomb.

Side by side like that, I think I prefer the MOS aesthetics. Not that the new suit is horrible. I just like the lines better on the old suit, and I don't like the belt at all on the new suit. I like the new boots and forearms, though, so it's all good.
