unrelated, but not....
I came into this forum about 2 years ago, and blasted Clix. I hated the sculpts on earlier releases. They sucked royal balls. It wasn't until unleashed that I started seeing minis that actually looked slightly human. I was stunned by the utter craptastic nature of the minis. They were, in my opinion, the worst sculpted minis in the miniture games business.
I now recuse myself, because Wizkids has finally started releasing minitures of quality. They are actually starting to look like the characters. The poses are now relevant to each character, and the detail is finally at a level that brings them up to the current average for miniture quality. Well done wizkids.
Now, the only thing that is still peaving me off a little about Clix, is the bloody paintjobs. I don't know if they get desperate asians at low cost to paint them, or if they have a computerized assembly line. Either way, the paint jobs on many Clix is subpar. Terrible in some cases. I'm yet to come across a clix that has a 'perfect' (up to the standard of current minis) paint job. I don't really care all that much, as I'm all about touchups and repaints. But I'm just gonna say, the paint jobs are terrible, and that this is another focus that Wizkids has to solve.
Lastly, thank you ebay, because I still hate the collectable nature of this game. I honestly don't want to end up with stuff I don't want. And for the price that a booster goes for, I don't wanna waste that kind of cash on crap I don't want.
Conclusion: Well done. The minis are now up to par, they are of a quality that one should expect. Thanks Wizkids, you've improved vastly upon the crap you were putting out a few years back. Thanks for finally giving a mini obsessed fanboy, quality minitures worthy of being added to ones collection...FINALLY
