In the past year, Milo Ventimiglia has become one of the most famous “Heroes” in all the world. But if the actor ever lands his dream role, Peter Petrelli will have to step aside and make room for the most famous sidekick in comic book history.

During a recent interview to promote his upcoming thriller “Pathology”, the 30-year-old actor could barely contain his excitement for co-star Zachary Quinto’s recent appointment as Mr. Spock in next year’s “Star Trek” movie. Remembering an early conversation they once had on the “Heroes” set, Ventimiglia marveled at the fact that Quinto said his dream role would be to play Spock - a part he landed just a few months later.

Naturally, the talk then turned to the role Ventimiglia had chosen as his dream gig. His answer? “Robin,” he grinned, referring to the embattled Batman buddy most recently seen in the person of Chris O’Donnell in the late Nineties.

When reminded that Dick Grayson typically signals the downfall of a Batman franchise, Ventimiglia insisted that current Dark Knight mastermind Christopher Nolan could bring enough of an edge to the character to make him worthwhile. The “Heroes” star added that he was a big fan of Nolan’s “Batman Begins,” and that if the writer/director ever put out a casting call for a Robin in a future Batman flick, he’d move faster than The Penguin at an umbrella sale.

“They’ve never done it right,” he added, explaining why Robin has always seemed so dorky in the past. Asked how he’d change the Robin story, Ventimiglia offered up a single word that speaks chapters to comic fans: “Nightwing.”

For those unaware of the storyline, “Nightwing” is a moniker Robin takes on as a tribute to Superman, then uses while trying to escape from Batman’s shadow. Clad in black, the acrobatic hero is typically associated with The New Teen Titans, and is considerably traumatized when Batman hires a new Robin that is seemingly killed by The Joker.

Naturally, if Nolan were to ever address Robin and/or Nightwing, it would be his prerogative to alter the origin story as he saw fit. But, with Ventimiglia’s look and athleticism, he would be a perfect choice for the role if it were to happen in the next few years. And if this Boy ever gets to fulfill his Wonder, remember you heard it here first.

Would you want to see Robin in the next film after “The Dark Knight”? What do you think of Milo playing the character? Holy casting possibility, Batman!

WAAAAAAAY to old for Robin, but if he really wants to play as Nightwing. Well we already know that Nightwing is going ot be the main character of the Teen Titans film.

If they decide to drop the "teen" part and just call them the "Titans" it could work... and actually very well, I might add.

I cant see him in the role.

He's more Spider-Man to me.

I also can't see him playing Robin but he could be great Nightwing tho.

I like the Robin suit, based on Begins suit.

BF and BB suit similar tho, nice work

Whew. I thought it was going to be that Asian guy. :o

Too old for robin, i can see him as Nightwing though

Way too old for Robin. Robin isn't suppose to be only 3 years older than Bruce.

However, he could play Nightwing in a spin off.

I could really see him playing Nightwing. He reminds me of Jim Lee's Nightwing come to life.

Milo?
when i read the title i thought maybe it was going to be Thomas Dekker

Funny thing, when I first saw him on Heroes, my first thought was "this is the TV equivalent of Christian Bale."

So yeah, he might make a decent younger Batman, but not Robin. Definitely too old.

That said, if they wanted to morph Robin's role into a older, more "realistic", more Nightwing-like character, he'd definitely be a good choice for the role.

Gotta go with the general consensus:

Nightwing: Yay
Robin: Nay

Thomas Dekker could play a good Robin. He's the right age for it.

masi oka should be robin. hahahah just kidding..

by the time robin gets to be in a movie, the guy would be too old. he could probably be terry mcginnis if they ever decide to do batman beyond. that's kinda like being a robin.

u cant have nightwing without robin. unless u just skip robin, and have nightwing to begin with...but i think that would be messing around with the character too much.

Robin is a sucky character to being with, why would you want to ruin one of the best Batman remakes by throwing that dumb-ass side-kick in. Batman can do just fine on his own, he does not need Robin or Batgirl; all’s they’d do is destroy the credibility of the movie.
