Get ready to "Save the cheerleader, save the world" in high-def late this summer, when Universal Studios Home Entertainment unleashes 'Heroes: Season One' on HD DVD.

The break-out superhero series has been one of the few bright spots for beleaguered NBC this year, where it quickly amassed a huge cult following that should devour the show in high-def.

Tailor-made for HD DVD, Universal will give the show the full box set treatment on August 28, with a seven-disc set expected to include plenty of extras.
Though the studio has not yet released any tech or supplemental details, recent public comments from the show's creators indicate some fun goodies should be in store for fans.
No list price has been set, either, but we'll keep you posted.

 yea, definately. i'm planning to buy it as part of my dvd collection.

im def getting it for regular dvd but i was thinking didnt they kinda make a big deal, well not really a big deal, but that this is VOLUME 1 of heroes and that there chapters not episodes but on the dvd it says SEASON 1.

im just saying do u think they'll change the cover to say Volume 1

If they use volumes it might confuse consumers, volumes usually refers to a select number of episodes from ONE season, not the entire season.

Transformers Original G1 DVD's have some of the seasons split up into multiple "volumes".

Yeah, but those are usually "Season X, Volume Y." You don't see many full sets labeled just as "Volume." Although I have to give it to you that when they are, they're usually not just one full season - they're usually a portion of one season or two combined shorter seasons. So I guess you do have a point.

Anyway, I really hope that that cover art is just spec art - it's WAY too bland.

$99 for the HD-DVD set. Kinda pricey.
