Heroic Age

I think it's the Hood. going with my notion that these are defeated villains given a choice to do good or go to jail(aka thunderbolts). why else would it need to be a SECRET? if it's the Hood awesome(Someone besides Bendis gets to write the character woohoo!) if not idk

So would that make the other character possibly Dark Beast?

I was thinking Venom though the quote doesn't seem to make that much sense for him but it can if you look at it the right way

You mean you think they're going to rename the Thunderbolts and make them a secret team post-Siege?

Apparently some kind of variation on the Avengers? I wonder if they'd consider getting new identities?

I didn't mean it in that way, but is anyone buying thunderbolts right now? I am getting the next couple issues but I don't see how that series will continue after siege with it's current state

Presumably, it wouldn't. But why would they need to take the original Thunderbolts concept and re-brand it as Secret Avengers? Why not just reboot the Thunderbolts series? There's a fair bit of name recognition for the T-bolts at this point.

Isn't that what Marvel did with Dark Avengers though?

I hope "Secret" implies that the members are from other franchises and not your classic Avengers. Although Beast pushes that theory.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

I hope "secret" means they will kill you at the end of the mission, not just apprehend you so you can go to jail for 4 months, break out, and do the same **** over again.

Heroic age, am I doing it right?

I hope "secret" means shut up, Spoons, there should never be an Avengers death squad. :argh:

Perhaps a squad of suicidal characters?

Nope. Turns out Luke Cage is leading Marvel's Suicide Squad and they're still going to be called the Thunderbolts.

No, it sounds like Jeff Parker is changing the concept to be Luke Cage leading a bunch of felons as a get-out-of-jail-free team. The villains would all be answering to Luke and Luke would presumably try to steer them in the right direction. I guess it would be more accurate to call them an anti-Suicide Squad.

Well there goes my Secret Avengers theory. gotta say that team does not interest me at all though.

Aww, I was hoping that the team was going to be: Wolverine, X-23, Warpath, Archangel, and Daken.

And the story could be that Cyclops fights with the government over who gets to use the death squad this week. :funny:

Man-Thing and Juggernaut?

Interesting. Maybe Jeff Parker will reverse the stupid stupidness that Mike Carey did to Juggernaut. :argh:

Yeah, I didn't really like how he had Jugs throw himself back into being a full-on villain (and a *****ebag) whole hog. His internal conflict in New Excalibur, for all of that series' other faults, was actually pretty good. Then it just went right out the window.

You know who should've been on this team? Sandman. I really hate that he's gone back to full-on villainy as well. He was good as an anti-hero.

C'mon. Somebody needs to go after those Raft escapees. Oh yeah, thought I forgot Bendis!? Well I didn't! How many years has it been. Count Nefaria and 30+ super-criminals are still runnin wild like Hulkamania.

If you're talking about the breakout at the beginning of New Avengers, I'm pretty sure that was in 2004, which would make it 6 years. Didn't Spider-Man stop them in that Breakout mini-series they did?

A mini? No way did Spidey round up that many criminals in no stinkin mini-series.

I wouldn't know, I didn't read it. But I know it exists and I know it was related to the New Avengers jailbreak. Then again, assuming Spider-Man could ever hope to take Count Nefaria is almost as bad as the Spider-Man/Firelord fight. :oldrazz:

Not unless he's been taking hammer-lock lessons from Black Panther :o

Spidey's wrist still ain't quite right since Jigsaw snapped it 6 years ago :(
