The Fantastic Four deserves better than this.

When Marvel was talking up Age of Ultron where were you?

When Warner Bros. was bursting with excitement about their still distant Superman/Batman project at Comic-Con 2013, where were you?

Over the past several months as we’ve seen concept paintings from AOU and Zack Snyder talking about his project with genuine enthusiasm, where have you been?

Do you have any idea who the Fantastic Four are or what they meant to the history of comic books?

Fantastic Four helped define the Silver Age of Comics, but you treat them like they’re unworthy of your attention – not cool enough for you.

Your precious X-Men would have never existed if Fantastic Four hadn’t paved the way.

You should be ashamed.

The way you’ve treated the Fantastic Four – not just recently but over the past ten years – is a disgrace.

You should be completely ashamed of your cynical mis-management of an iconic property that only started to lose its luster after you got your hands on it.

Is anybody listening? Does anybody care? Are you just a bunch of accountants sitting behind closed doors counting your pennies?

The Fantastic Four deserves better than this.

Signed

A Fantastic Four Fan

I'm sorry. I couldn't hold back any longer. That was cathartic though.

You're not alone Willie.

F4 does deserve better...and I hope they won't be counting many pennies come 6/18/15.

Thanks Fox for ruining the Fantastic Four

DOFP may end up being the greatest X-Men film ever created. But I can't give FOX any money after watching them spit on my all-time favorite superhero team.

100,000% agreed.... and FOX.....I'm a 48 year old Fantastic Four fan (the only comic I collect), who has all issues of the comic from about issue 100 on........if you need to gain some insight into the REAL Fantastic Four, hit me up. :ff:

I think he's not responding because he's trashing his home as we speak and will probably strip naked and run down the street yelling " Daaammmnn yooouu FOoooXxxxxx!!!".

Yep, I'm 49 and I remember the days before video games and Star Was and home video and th days when we only had three channels on the TV. I would RUN down to the newsstand each Tuesday to see if the latest FF was there. It was a big freakin' deal to those of us who were there and we've been waiting for over 40 years for someone to make a decent film version.

So Monday, the announced start of production, should have been a celebration for me and the millions of other FF fans who care about this more than the empty suits at Fox could ever understand.

But Monday has come and gone and we've got nothing. Just a quick blurb in a local paper saying production has started.

If the people who are making this can't even PRETEND to care about this film, how can ANYBODY be expected to give a damn?

Just put it directly on video and be done with it.

I can understand why some would be a bit angry that they haven't released anything , even though they just started filming, but at the same time I'm leaning more towards this being fan entitlement.

The internet has spoiled us so much that too many fans demand something be released during pre-production. I'm sure we'll get set photos real soon if they already started filming.

It's not that simple idea of something being released. It's the PASSION behind it. It's the idea that they can't hold back how excited they are about this project. It's "Wow! You won't believe how cool this is going to be!"

All we have seen since the beginning of this project is apathy. Utter and complete apathy from everyone involved.

Yes Willie Lumpkin, at last a thread that goes beyond the mere hope of sending the rights back home to Marvel but now a thread to express your utter disgust with how Fox treats Fantastic 4. At the end of the day, I could care less about X-Men anymore...after seeing comic book films that feel like they are actually part of the Marvel Universe come from Marvel Studios/Disney/Paramount, its almost embarrassing that they still make comic book movies that just use names and randomly put them together and hope it turns out okay.

It just hurts so much to know the 4, Doom, Latveria, Negative Zone, Galactus, Silver Surfer, Annihilus, etc. are not being interfiled with the MCU is a major blow and I know that if Feige gets these characters back, you can bet they will be used to the most of Marvel's ability. Is MCU perfect? No, but when I go home, it feels like I left the Marvel Universe and I've never been able to say the same about Fox's marvel movies. They've got it right more times than not and that is something Fox can never say...I can only hope the day will come....

You are definitely not alone Willie. The worst part is how they've dragged this out to the bitter end postponing date after date giving us false hope that this could have returned to Marvel in the end - and now what is it like 4 months before reversion?

So much for hoping...

Every time I come to this site, the first thing I always want to see in the heading is that Fox has shelved this FF project. And the celebrations that would follow. Oh how I long for that day.

They miss the entire point of Fantastic Four by making it a low-budget, "grounded" film. They're the FANTASTIC Four; they should be about outlandish, imaginative stories that go beyond the realm of normality. Fox is doing the exact opposite of they should with this film.

If someone involved in this project could express some knowledge of the FF combined with enthusiasm for this project, they could sell me on the idea of a different take.

For example: "We recognize that FF was very ground-breaking when it first came out. Things like Star Trek, Star Wars and even popular superhero films of today took elements from the original Fantastic Four, and we need to capture that feeling of adventure and exploration of amazing things combined with serious, world-altering threats . . . and we need to do all that with a feeling that these are real people who could actually exist . . . but we want to do that in a way that doesn't re-tread ground that other films have already done. We're doing some things that are a little different, but we're really excited about how they work and we feel this film will capture the key elements that made the FF so ground-breaking when it originally appeared. I think the fans will be really love what we've come up with!"

If I saw something like that, I might say: "Okay, these people seem to get it. Maybe I should give them a chance."

But instead of knowledge and enthusiasm, we're getting ignorance and apathy. With each new thing we hear from those involved, it's painfully obvious that they don't know and they don't care who the FF actually are. They've got a film they want to make and it's not really FF, but they're too cool to care if some geeks on the internet don't like what they're doing.:csad:

Exactly.

I do that every time as well. I check back in and hope to see that news!

Right.

I like it but there is not enough room at the bottom for when we hear more about it's progress.
