Don't know if this was posted anywhere.........I looked everywhere and didn't see a thread! :argh: But anyway this is the deal. I feel bad for the citizens there.....but the government is f-ed up. Not saying our government isn't corrupt but if you have been there, you'd understand. :o have

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/as_philippines_bus_hostages And just to say, I love visiting the Philippines, I go once a year, but just to see how good the people are there and the way the government there is, is really messed up. The provinces are probably the best places to go there, but just try to avoid Manilla. Very similiar to NYC!

Yea, I absolutely loved the P.I. I remember my first trip there I wound up in Pitong Gatong Tondo. I met this cute girl at the school where I applied and I ended up staying with her family there. I played basketball with everybody and it was crazy how everyone knew my name. It wasnt until I got back home that I discovered that Tondo was a dangerous place. But yea, with Alfred Lim in charge trying to turn Manila into a "family environment" expect to see the police trying to rob anyone who doesnt look Filipino. Those cops go through a lot of **** I imagine, first of all the pay is low, the danger is high, and I suspect since they are finally hearing tourists complaints of being robbed by cops in Manila, the government is probably putting the pressure on them. Yea, if you go to the P.I. stay out of Manila, nothing really much to do there unless you have no scruples. My favorite place in the world is Cebu. I swear I'm going to move back there, take a 60 year lease out on a nice big condo after I graduate college. Yea, Cebu is where it is at!!!! I miss the Philippines. :(

I love freakin Cebu! But yeah I hate Manila. I love going there because they seem to love Basketball more than americans which shocked the freak out of me. And because I'm a black american that plays basketball of course they all think I'm an import but yeah....................I love it there. Again, that freakin government is mindboggling corrupt. It's a wonder there hasn't been any coup the past few years.

Yea they are overdue for a coup, following Bangkok's example, everyone there really hates Gloria.

Man...I'm Filipino myself and have a lot of family in Manila, and to see this is just so effed up...

Where's Erz... he can speak on this because he's half German.

Why did Hong Kong post a travel advisory to the Philippines? Does it have anything to do with growing anti-Chinese sentiment here?
